You can't get to the end of a rainbow because you can't get to a rainbow. They are caused by light from the sun being reflected off water vapour in the air to your eye. If you chase one long enough, it will simply disappear because you'll hit a drier part of the atmosphere. You also see a different rainbow to everyone else and they are also circular so they don't have ends. If you got high enough, you would be able to see a full circle. It only looks like a half circle because you can't see past your horizen.
