Waking up from a 3 month coma and being told I'd not only survived covid but that my heart had actually stopped - total flatline so paddles are useless - and instead of calling Time of Death after 20 minutes unresponsive the team kept CPR going two and a half hours to get it beating again and another 90 minutes to stabilise me.
Thanks to the team led by Dr Rubeshan Perumel at Rondebosch Medical Centre in Cape Town I get to watch my son grow up instead of him having to grow up without his daddy.
I can never thank them enough, nor the people praying for me.
I should be dead. Even under a South African government lockdown, Life itself is a Joy.
I was determined to be "essential" so I didn't lose any pay. I know a lot of people are hurting. One of the many things I learned last year was that shopping local makes a big difference. Screw amazon.
