Would you go out with a man who is flat broke and has no ambition for the future if he was just super nice?
Flat broke as in looking to have someone else take care of him,... NO
But does he need to have tons of money and material possessions... NO
It sounds like your pretty grounded and your expectations are reasonable enough. So long as you don't go for a financial wild-card, meaning lots of debt. Money problems do cause undo stress and misery in a relationship.
I want somebody that wants me, but doesn't need me. If they happen to be loaded, I sure as hell am not going to complain, but I wouldn't expect anything from them either.
When someone you love dies, you start to realize money is just money... Material possessions shouldn't mean more than a person... I value people more than money... Just like people get in debt... Money can be earned, can be lost... Money can be replaceable, so can material things... People can't be replaced, nor can life itself... Time wasted is something you can't ever get back
I am so sorry that happened to you. That's actually the story I was interested in. Of course what you went through was life altering and perspective changing as well as tragic. You do not seem to have a problem discussing it but I don't want to push. I sense you have good clarity and you had good people around to help. And I guess the best way to sum up my stance is that money isn't everything but it's also not nothing.
You need money to live.. True... But it's how people choose to live that they make a necessity that really isn't one... The parents that spend so much time working to give their children possessions they don't need to say they have them the better life, when they really need the time, attention, and love way more than all those material things 🤷🏼♀️
lol... When I grew up, I was first generation American (sort of) and we had no family here other than my parents. So they were the sole providers of toys and stuff for me and my brother. But my kids had grandparents, aunts uncles, etc. All sending them presents and money over holidays and birthdays. I couldn't believe the amount of crap they got compared to when I was a kid. It was like the North Pole exploded in my living room. It was overwhelming, so much so that I began to dread the holidays. I had no way of stopping the avalanche of shit, most of it useless they got. As you would expect most of it was interesting for a day and then was just junk. I used to sneak out old toys to donate as much as I could just to make room.
Of course, as they grew up all they cared about were their phones, so fortunately the avalanche did get smaller towards the end. Then getting them off the phones was my daily challenge. A kid with a ton of relatives gets a ton of shit, there's not much one can do about it.
That isn't much money to me, so ig i consider it simple. Now if i had to spend that on someone else, oh hell no lol
To me 15k on a wedding, that's a down payment on a house, that's over a year's rent at $1k a month.
15k is nothing if you use a wedding calc. Food is like $3k, a tent is like $5k, a venue is $2-8k. It all adds up quickly

I Wanted to be kindergarten teacher, but lost hearing by age 17. i like my current work as a graphic designer but nf2 is raging and heart and brains still goo but my body's dieing off, may need above knee amputation but I'd love getting that in. :p it's the scary part if I survive the surgery. If not, at least I pass in my sleep. Sry @Brainsbeforebeauty I get nerv ous
@Peanut127 why don't you just SHUT UP and stop talking about death at least in my presence! 😤
I have faith that your going to survive all this and after that you will give me a kiss amber bamber bambina ☺️
If your heart stops, i'll kiss it so it beats again, your brain and heart aren't allowed to stop 😊
Now let's say that if you have never had this nf2, i'm sure you's d want some kids and if a man like me made you a housewife than your going to want 10 kids 😂😂
You can be a teacher at home for your kids and for your husband when he acts like kids 🤣🤣
@Peanut127 nothing to be sorry for. Your facing a lot and being nervous first take away from the strength and courage you have 💜💜
I agree with miss brains muffins, i'm bringing the spinach so you become strong like popeye 😁
And miss brains muffins, no matter what you do, you won't get away from having your big forehead bitten 😂
🤣🤣 the people who think money is everything must of never had that person that means more than any money in the world 🤷🏼♀️
Apparently not. No savior, who protects them from poverty (and even that savior would need money to finance it all). So money became that hero. Money is an excellent servant but the worst master.
Materialism makes me happy.
Hell, I even need lots of money to even achieve that "simple life" level of normal life. At least maybe 98% of humans were not involuntarily "abducted" into the outside countries, which are poorer than where they're originally from. If you are me, then this is the biggest challenge because all odds are stacked against you in a poverty stricken outside country.
Just wait until March! I will be posting some photos of our garden and what we will be planting. I will plant scorpion chili and when it's good to harvest, i will do scorpion challenge on my youtube channel 🌶💥😝
No worries! We will have tomatoes, cucumbers, roman salad, arugula. radishes, carrots, onions,
brussels sprouts. green peas, potatoes, strawberries, apple and a lot of fresh condiments, not just chili ;)
That all sounds really good 👍 have you ever gotten back cherry tomatoes? They're really good. My neighbor did the one year and gave me a big bag of then and they were so good I was eating em like they were candy lololol
Every year, yes. This year will will have the red cherry tomatoes, the yellow and the cocktail tomatoes. They are one of the greatest nature's candy 👌
House feels like on of those little puzzles where you have to shuffle segments in the puzzle to "free" a certain segment. On the plus side, I'm walking more.
"I agree to an extent Elisabeth" ? Who's Elizabeth 🤔 That's not my name 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
"I’d also love a solid gold dildo."😂😂😂
👍👍
Ever heard it I listen to it a lot. Played it to my daughter when she had my grandson.
Yeah you need to wear shoes, but do women really NEED a pair for each outfit?
Do people NEED a TV on EVERY room?
You get the idea, where I'm going here right?
@Brainsbeforebeauty, do you even need a tv? When I was younger we didn't stay inside and watch tv we were outside.
I agree. I have material objects, but I consider my life pretty simple. It's not live off the grid simple, but I don't have a lot of toys. :)
Thanks!
Then my choice is between a and b. I can say that I live simple life. But actually it would be true. There are so many things in the house that I don’t need but prefer to have. Such as robot vacuum, a dishwasher, smart TVs, expensive phones and etc. It’s basic things. But they are materialistic. I don’t buy whatever I want, I would never buy expensive clothes for example. So I wouldn’t say that my lifestyle is materialistic.
