I'm the same way. I gathered the plates together and clean the table after I eat. Lol
You should always leave a decent tip regardless when dealing with waiters and waitresses because they live off tips.
Thats not my fault they chose a tip based job. A lot of them dont deserve it. Thats like the dummies who were choosing tonwork at sonics where base pay was $2.50 and the rest was tips based. Thats dumb they chose a job with unrequired pay
You need to be more compassionate and understanding. Life happens. You don't know someone's story and background and why they ended up where they ended up in life.
I am compassionate. But its not my job to tip. I’ll tip if they deserve it. They should get a non tip based job

I hate moaning and complaining pricks.
I had this colleague once who did that all the time. Like we were at a steakhouse and he ordered his fries extra crispy, and they served him the fries and he complained that they weren't crispy enough. Looked crispy to me, but it wasn't for him. Then he complained and even asked to talk to the chef and he complained to him, and the chef turned into an asskisser and said they will make another batch for him. Then he got his extra crispy batch finally but he was all pissed after the restaurant went through all the trouble for him and he didn't even tip the waitress who went so far out of her way for him. I slipped her a $100 bill just out of sympathy. Then I drove the team back to our office and had to listen to the colleague (he was fatso, by the way) complain the whole time about how the french fries -- damned potatoes! WTF!
I was raised by family who survived very harsh World War 2 conditions, even an aunt I never met because she starved to death. And while I am spoiled in my own way, there is nothing more annoying to me than someone who doesn't even realize they are spoiled and thinks the whole world revolves around them and demands this and that. The customer isn't always right. The customer is sometimes a complete asshole.
I love your attitude, man. Never change it. We all have our demons we are fighting, and the last thing we need is a annoying prick at work starting drama because he or she thinks is God.
Cheers! I figure life's not worth taking for granted. At least that's all we have to be wasting our day on damned french-fried potatoes and, worse, ruining other people's days in the process. I am a hypocrite sometimes, and in a way. I squander my life sometimes with drinking and work. But if I'm gonna be ruining my own day, or worse others, at least it's gonna be something better than french fries. I need something properly traumatic -- like a death of a loved one -- to act the way some people do over their french fries not being crispy enough.
