Are you for marijuana or against... why or why not?

- As someone who works with cancer and mental illness patients in the cannabis industry I'm going to have to say I'm for it. Lol1|20|0Is this still revelant?

2389- Obviously there still needs to be years on years on years of research to see long term effects but it’s also shown to helped people medically. Those suffering with glaucoma, pain from chemotherapy, social anxiety, schizophrenia to name a few.
The way I see it, tobacco and alcohol is worse but legal for “social use” but there’s a huge taboo or misconceptions from the unformed about Marijuana usage.
I support it so long as I’m not getting cloud of smoke splashed onto my face. Do what your heart contents.1|00|0 - I'm against it tbh. I notice that people that smoke it have very similar behaviour like thinking they had conversations with you when they didn't.
Turning up late...
Gaining weight. Or feeling very lethargic.
Memory isn't always so great too.
They often use it to help with anxiety and sleepless nights but the sleepless nights only stop temporarily.
Then resume but they never think oh its the weed they think oh let me have some more.
They can become really insular and hermit like.
Irrational and snappy especially if they've not had a fix.
People might say I'm over exaggerating but I also find snoring starts or gets worse...
If they can find a way to calm people without crap effects then Yea.
I'm sure ill have a ton of people jump on my back but I'm glad it's not legal here in the UK.0|00|0 - I think marijuana should be legal for use and purchase with limitations, same as alcohol. However, as a moral, I'm against it. Everyone says it's not addicting, but as a person who's seen too many people become dependant on it whether for their anxiety, or whatever, I know that is a bunch of bullshit. I know a lot of people that smoke weed and all of them do it extremely often and spend a ton of money on it and insist everything is ok and it has no connection to their loss of motivation and because it's become so popular, they all enforce this belief in each other.
Marijuana is a wonderful drug as a treatment for certain diseases, but it's still a drug, its still bad for your lungs, it still creates a lack of motivation in regular users, and it is absolutely addicting.0|00|0I'm a avid user... and I am a marine biologist. I work 6 days a week sometimes 10 hour days I am at the head of my company. I own my own house...2 cars... i also run a bakery from online.
I am very successful and happy. I am full of ambition and always up for anything.
Maybe this is the diff of Americans and Canadian.
It is not the drug... whether it be booze, crack, meth or marijuana it's the PERSON.
People that have addictive personalities run into compultion issues.
I don't mind people having their own opinion "to each their own" but look up positive things about marijuana instead of always listening to the hype.
We could actually save the work lumber crises. Compressed hemp blocks to build houses. They are already figuring out how.
@Jacqp, it was not my intention to say it is impossible to be an avid weed smoker and also be successful, but I think you are one of a kind. I'm sure there are other out there, you probably know quite a few because of your profession. It was wrong of me to say it is morally wrong to smoke weed. I should've said weed can lead to immorality as other drugs can, such as alcohol, but is not morally wrong of itself.
@Jacqp, I'm also very aware of the wonderful uses of hemp. And as I stated in my original comment, I know smoking weed can be incredibly helpful for diseases like Parkinsons. I'm not anti-weed. I'm anti-addiction. Not everyone gets addicted. I believe most do.

Bruh, I've seen people dependant on coffee and sugar. But whatever. Lmfao maybe they do weed so much because of their loss of motivation? Whatever, I'm sure it's easier to blame the weed and forget everything else. Also you're wrong, lots of stoners are successful like her, two of my stoner friends sell insurance and make good money, they are both married, getting their lives together, starting a family. Bruh smoking weed doesn't kill your motivation, but if you smoke weed then people will blame EVERY problem on the weed. Depressed cause you got laid off and everyone (mainly your parents) you tell about it assumes you're lying and either quit or did something dumb and got fired. They blame your failure and the depression on the weed, and then they use it as an excuse to distance themselves from you, then they're surprised when you get more depressed and start smoking more weed as a result.
Tbh I dont think anyone should be anti-weed or anti-addiction. Especially anti-addiction, what does that even mean? You look down on people with addictions?
What we should be is anti-depression/anti-isolation/anti-mental illness. We should help each other and try to solve mental illness as a society, in my opinion it will be the only thing to cause depression and addiction to end.@Jacqp, if I made you feel judged at all, I'm sorry, I smoked weed when I was younger and stopped because I didn't want to form that habit. I don't really drink either. 90% of my friends and family smoke weed and I love every one of them. Just because I disagree with it doesn't mean I think less of you.
- Compared to cigarettes', marijuana doesn't give people lung and breathing related impairments and illnesses, lung cancer being the primary. Second hand smokers are even liable for the same illnesses. Marijuana, on the other hand, is used in medication, and has been said to reduce anxiety. Better yet, it's a plant, and not a chemically addicted substance.1|10|0
- There is such an amazing amount of money and benefit to be had by regulating the cultivation and sale of Marijuana. Even if you only grow Hemp; it's incredibly useful stuff. Legalizing can cut prison spending, increase tax revenue, reduced pharmaceutical dependence, improve societal mental health. The chaff (unusable parts of the plant) have an extremely high yield for biofuels, and my understanding is that Marijuana is a restorative crop for farmland as well.
I'm a pretty firm believer that electric cars are absolutely not the future, so those biofuels will have considerable benefit. I think electric cars are cute and fun, but there are immense issues of practicality and the environmental impact of producing the cars negates the benefits of driving them. Switch to bio diesel, not electric.0|00|0 - Depends on what you mean by for or against. I think it should be legal, I think people have the right to do it, it also has some medical application which should be looked into.
I also hate potheads because like vegans they spout off about how it cures everything even though it doesn't while saying how much better it is to be a pothead, they consume it in quantities that are unhealthy and rot their brain, they use it to cope with life instead of just developing functional copeing mechanisms, and they smoke to the point were they become less functional then they would otherwise be. Pot heads also cannot handle criticism of pot and act like its gods gift to the universe when all it is is a drug like all the other drugs.
I don't blame pot for that, a pot head is no different then an alcoholic, except the alcoholic isn't telling you how drinking 24/7 is the greatest thing ever and it cures cancer man, google it.0|01|0 - Pro as i do see it as a matter of personal freedom no different than buying cigarettes or whisky, also it would bring in more cash I remember reading a article saying that las Vegas got 100 mill in tax dollars thanks to it so that's great and my last reason is that the entire bases for being illegal was fucked up at best mean originally it was outlawed because the people who demonized alchohol were going out of business and wanted to survive so they used racism to get people to hate it then in the Nixon days when we knew it wasn't that bad he kept it illegal as to keep those against him in jail or under threat of jail1|00|0
- Being for legalization doesn't mean you nessacerily want to smoke it. I'm all for the legalization of any drug, prostitution, abortion, sex bots, guns, etc. because THAT is an actual free market which not a single country in the world has. You can't claim to have a free market with everything available to buy EXCEPT *and then a list of things*. If even one item is on that list, then automatically, a country is only partially free market and is 100% liable for the illegal activities it causes itself as a result., because time and time again it's shown that when something becomes illegal, then there is just a black market that develops anyways. The left and right both suck at free market economies whether it's weed, prostitution, guns. straws or plastic. Free markets benefit both sides, yet both are too stupid to see that. Just pointing that out.0|00|1
Your rambling about nothing relevant. There has always been a black market and always will be whether things are legal or not.
Has nothing to do with the consumption of weed and how it affects us or community. Thanks for playingBut you drink? I find most alcoholics look their nose down at any other type of "drug" at least I can say after smoking a joint I remember what I did... i didn't hurt anyone feelings and I don't feel like shit after. So... ill stick with pot
- It's fine. Cannabis and hemp were quite common throughout history and throughout the world 'till about 60 years ago. Then a bunch of do-gooder's thought it should be illegal. Primarily it was a racist offensive - they just didn't want white girls getting high with blacks and mexicans. EVERYBODY in the jazz era were stoners. Never hurt nobody.1|00|1
- There are obviously some risk factors that comes with Marijuana but, unless you already have underlying health issues, the potential harm it can cause pales in comparison to other completely legal drugs. Not to mention the medical benefits both THC and CBD has, even if I do still believe that more research is needed to get a clearer and more accurate picture.
Most importantly, making it legal is the only way to make the production and consumption safer for everybody involved. After all, you can't LEGALLY regulate something if the thing you're trying to regulate isn't legal to begin with.
Weed should be legal but treated just like alcohol, with obvious age restrictions and legal repercussions for things like driving while under the influence.1|00|0 - I personally don't like but I support the legalisation of it. I hate the smell and I think it's dirty but with proper laws in place like smoking it indoors and only be allowed a certain dosage. I think it could help the economy massively. The thing is I think the government is scared of positive possibilities marijuana could have.0|00|0
- For.
It makes me euphoric and it takes my migraines and stress away.
Bucket list 1|20|1 - Anonymous1 moPro. It's less harmful than alcohol, has medicinal uses, is taxable (which helps the community), lowers crime rate (because it takes "drugs" off the street and eliminates the need for illegal sale), and takes away a revenue stream for gangs (who would get money by selling weed).1|00|0
Yay!!! Nicely said
- I no longer partake but I support legalization. It's just a plant. It has a great many benefits. People with addictive personalities use it to constantly get high, but it doesn't cause people to get violent and its use isn't dangerous. Its illegality, on the other hand, has caused untold harm.1|10|0
- Against. Because of its practical limitations.
For most people it's harmless. But in people with psychoactive disorders, or even anxiety disorders (which is a huge portion of the population) it can cause some pretty nasty psychological reactions.
Also, Marijuana doesn't clear out of the blood very quickly. There will still be traces a week after use. Which makes it very difficult to judge a DUI.0|01|0Nobody is under the delusion that Alcohol is a remedy for anything but boredom.
And alcohol is natural too. It occurs via a natural process of fermentation.Marijuana as Treatment
Research suggests that those with mental illness might actually be self-medicating with marijuana – turning to the plant to help manage their symptoms, rather than becoming ill after use.
Emerging evidence indicates that psychiatric patients who try marijuana show significant improvements in symptoms and clinical outcomes (such as lower mortality rates and better cognitive functioning) compared with those who have not.
And some of the unique chemicals in marijuana, such as cannabidiol (CBD), seem to have antipsychotic properties. Now, researchers are investigating it as a possible treatment for schizophrenia and depression
You have an incredibly simplistic and flawed view on how mental health works.
Just because 1 patient with one condition sees benefit from Marijuana, does not mean a different patient with a different condition would see the same effect.
The negative effect of Marijuana on people with psychoactive disorders, and anxiety disorders are well documented. This is not controversial information, but a medical fact. To deny it is equivalent to denying that earth is a sphere.
Marijuana is not magic just because it makes you personally feel good. Stop trying to convince the world it is the miracle drug you want it to be.- Show All Show Less
- I don't do it myself, but I don't care too much if others want to, I think it should be their right, just understand the potential risks, if there are any.1|10|0
Risk of pot are eating too much and passing out lol
No marijuana over doses on record to date
- Just treat it like f*cking liquor or any other intoxicating substance and everything else falls into place. Advocate against its overuse, teach your children good coping mechanisms, and everyone will be just fine and dandy with legal weed. Weed's legal status is an unfortunate artifact of western puritanism and American racism, and it's well past the expiry date.0|00|0
- Anonymous1 moMann def gotta move to Canada one day 😔. I’m pro for it I am underage yk yk so I shouldn’t have a say but I do use it with friends or siblings. But yea like it’s not like it’s cocaine or smth and it’s not addicting at all. Yes some people have withdraws n those r the people that’ll like misuse it just like alcohol or any other drug so yk.1|10|1
- As much as I love freedom, I am still quite against the use of drugs, unless you are diagnosed with something and the drug is important for your mental or physical health. If it was up to me, even caffeine wouldn't be sold without a genuine cause, it's a goddamn stimulant and stronger than most antidepressants, that you cannot purchase without having a prescription.0|01|0
- I support medical marijuana and have no issue with recreational marijuana (though I don't use it myself). However, marijuana smoke, just like tobacco smoke, is not good for your lungs. If you're going to use marijuana, you're better off using edible oils or using it in food.1|10|0
- For it or against it is one thing each person can decide. But the government has no right to tell us what we can put in our bodies. Making it illegal is stupid, immoral, a waste of taxpayer resources, and the flawed continuation of the type of stupidity that gave us prohibition on alcohol.2|10|0
- Drugs increase the stupidity of people, how are we as a country going to survive if all of our generations deteriorate into idiots addicted to being high, it also smells terrible, I live in a place where it's legal and I think it should become Illegal again, at least harder to get.0|10|0
- I don’t smoke, but I’m all for legalizing weed. It’s a pretty harmless substance and they’ve been locking black folk up for it for decades to fill private prisons and to get slave labor. Why is weed illegal but alcohol isn’t?1|10|1
- 100 percent for it. It's not for everyone (often people take too much edibles and get paranoia) but for those who need it, or simply enjoy it, it's amazing. I used to drink alcohol more but switched over to it and my life is so much better now.1|00|0
- Well, I don't want it for me or my family, but I feel it should be more legal than tobacco. Plus the plant is super useful for a bunch of things that have been criminalized or regulated out of existence, and I'm very against that.0|00|0
- Definitely for. Try having high anxiety it feels like a heart attack, then smoke this. Good to go. Try having to deal with so much inflammation on a daily basis, then smoke this. Good to go. This won't eat up at my liver like pills do. Take this medication over pills anytime1|10|0
Yes... that is the best part. Natures cure. More and more DR are prescrbining cannabis over pharmaceutical

After your update and reading some of these statements, people are dumb. I won't do it because I want to become smart. Or I am trying to be successful in life. Or it should be illegal again.
I'm about to be 42 in 2 months. I have been in the military and got out (biggest mistake I've ever made!).
I am in college again because I got tired of the blue collar work I was continually doing. I have so many ailments that pharmaceutical pills don't help. So I went to natural stuff, marijuana.
So, back to the college thing. I haven't been in a regular school in over 20 years. My major is mechanical engineering! Really tough, hard math! Stressful type of job and tough to learn. I SMOKE MARIJUANA DOING THIS! How have I become less smart? I am trying to open a restaurant with someone I know that smokes it as well. So, we would be considered entrepreneurs, correct? Its our own concept and not followed by a chain! Yet all these tards that are against weed thinks that it makes you less smart. I'd like to chat with them and see how brilliant they are not smoking it. You can copy and post this too if necessary. Ill defend my standpoint, but from what I wrote, there should be no need too. Oh, and my GPA is over 3.00 so they can't be like well how is he doing in school with his grades? BAM, there it is! My GPA while I was in high school, under 2. First time I tried to go to college, under 1. Looks like I made the right choice to smoke weed!Fucking eh buddy!!! Your the shit... very well spoken and on point... thank you. Made me tear up reading that. People are very stupid. And media bullshit has just fed there dumbness.
I too went through University high... lol and I had a 4.0 I have both Vet technician DIPLOMA and Mairne biologist DIPLOMA. Also head of my company. My husband and I also run a legitimate cannabis cultivation operation. And I bake wedding cakes.
I am very active with sports with two children.I want to go on these other opinions but I dont like doing that. I believe its just fear that people like you and I can be so profitable in life they want to try to say this stuff isn't worth it. I think its better than not smoking it. Better decisions are made when you're calm. But it is what it is. If they don't want to smoke it, more for us. More business opportunities too.
- this drug can make those who use it so high that who knows what bad they will do while on it ! thanks0|00|0
- Legal yes. You be responsible adult. If kill someone accidentally.. because out if control driving.. u get firing squad. Fair enough?0|00|0
- Anonymous1 moIt definitely helps me be more relax so I'm all for it.
If only they would legalize it here *sigh*1|00|0 - I'm for it. It's not going to make anyone more stupid than they already are.1|10|0
- Very pro. Reason being that, when there's a domestic violence dispute, it's never people toking, but often involves at least one person that's been drinking. If alcohol is legal, weed should be, too.0|00|0
- Couldn't care less if others do it as long as it's responsibly.
For me, it does nothing to me but make me tired and dry my throat. I much prefer alcohol.0|00|0 - I wouldn't smoke marijuana but I support it for others as long as they don't drive or use machinery while using it cause I worry about memory impairment the picture looks gorgeous0|00|0
- Marijuana has benefits for those who need it. Glaucoma, for example.
I'm more against it than for it, especially for the areas where Weed is Illegal.
Just like most other substances, this stuff won't be good for You in large quantities. Plus, it smells TERRIBLE. I cannot be around people who smoke it.1|00|0 - I refer you to this mini-rant I dumped on a rather unfortunate friend of mine.0|00|0
- Against it from day 1, ever since our retarded PM legalized it though, I guess it's not that edgy anymore. Getting high is not cool, you look fucking dumb. People who do weed also get fat, uglier, dumber, and probably become docile or sterile.0|01|0
Wow... LITTLE girl... get educated lol
Do I look fat... or ugly. Learn some respect and know what your talking about before u open your mouth. Loads of models... actors and entertainers love their weed... now what the fuck u got?Fuck off, you're getting mad because I offended you huh? Did I actually get some things right? Anger tells the truth lol. Yeah and those fuckers you mentioned are retarded, a lot of what they say is crap. If those people are your role models, that's sad. Oh, you're 39 and still smoking weed, seems immature lol.
Lol... oh sweetie... i think u need a nap... im not at all pissed off at your opinion it's your aggressive and immature response that made me angry.
- Show All Show Less
- Why would anybody be against it at this point? Everyone knows it was lied about for years and is great for anxiety. I only think they should regulate it like alcohol so nobody is driving while they are high.2|00|0
- If marijuana was good for you why did they put you in prison for using or growing it? Also if you use it for recreation and can’t function without it, it’s a drug or addiction.
If you use it medically and you’re never cured then what good is it doing you?
The only reason the government would want to legalize a drug that alters your perception of reality is so they can control you. But I digress.0|01|0 - It's legal in Nevada ,, but forget about that your eyes tells me you want some cookies0|00|0
Weed is legal in Nevada you can grow up to I think it's 5 plants you can have up to an Oz on you
- Anonymous1 moI'm against weed because it causes mental illness. I work in the mental health field and have seen people have mental breakdowns after using it for so long.0|00|0
- Show All Show Less
It's false... and I think it is ridiculous. Weed doesn't cause mental illnesses... it helps deal with them and in some cases helps fix them.
Yes I am saying Canabis is good for u... not alcohol... cigarettes, or meth excetra... but Canabis is proven to be good for us. Yes mam.
Your facts are incorrect and it's ridiculous you are grouping meth and alcohol with weedYou wanna be against weed... great.. giver... but don't call out bullshit rumors and bullshit media crap.
Drs prescribe it regularly for anxiety, sleep disorders, depression and pain... not to mention so much more. So in closing... canabis good... drugs badMarijuana as Treatment

I would give CBD... to children with ailments yes. Not thc... my daughter had athristis so bad she couldn't walk. Thanks to cbd strains she is running and playing again. We make topicals and she uses it ever day DR APPROVED!!!
Stop insinuating that people that use marijuana are stupid. It's really irritating. Marijuana is marijuana no matter if you smoke it, rub it on, eat it... hiw can u turn your nose up at one... but say good for you for another? Odd
- Anonymous1 moI don't use it, but it's legal in my state. You can buy it on every street corner. I have to admit, I much prefer the people in my apartment smoking pot, vs cigs. Cig smoke smells like a skunk's ass on fire.1|00|0
- Marijuana helps me relaxed. From a stressful day at work.2|00|0
- The real question is not why marijuana should be legalized, but why it was ever illegal in the first place. That legislation should've been repealed quickly, like Prohibition. Instead it has lingered for decades.1|00|0
- It's better than alcohol, it might have some side effects on few people but statistically marijuana is the best psychedelic.0|00|0
Ikr, someone told me that it's helpful for cancer too and i was like are you being fr? Lol
Cancer... memory issues... skin issues... anxiety... stress... brain growth... so many things
- Anonymous1 moI am in favor of legalization of marijuana use; but not in favor of using it. I think drug prohibition doesn't work. It didn't work with alcohol and it isn't working with drugs. We are experiencing the same problems: no real decrease in its use, an increasingly violent organized criminal activity to supply it to the populace, and the creation of more dangerous alternatives. As for its use, I see no value in chemical escapism. Especially when the chemicals have harmful side effects.0|10|0
I suggest you do a little more research... marijuanna is neither a chemical... or a drug. It is a medicinal herb with millions of healing qualities.
- Opinion Owner1 mo
I don't need to do more research I work in a Toxicology lab doing employment based drug testing. We are required to do 12 hours of continuing education every year. Half of which ends up being research articles on marijuana use. I get that you feel that it is medicinal herb; but I come from the scientific community and everything is some sort of chemical. I understand that their are beneficial aspects of marijuana use; just like there are beneficial uses of opioids. However, they both have harmful side effects; and when you aren't using them for a medical condition, but just to get high. All you get are the negative side effects.
- Show All Show Less
Marijuana had NO chemicals. cones from dirt. Lol
Nothing added. Pure and beautiful.
Keep pushing your vaccines in your lab though ,👍It's a natural herb. A calm high from what the earth gives u. No lab added chemicals. Just pure.
Same as mushrooms. No chemicals. And they have healing properties too.
- Neither. I'm opposed to it being illegal. I'm don't approve of using it, except as treatment for nausea, glaucoma, etc.0|00|0
- I'm firmly against marijuana; I only grown and smoke it to be a contrarian.1|00|0
- I think it should be legal even though I'll never use it.0|00|0
- Against, it makes everything for miles around stink and the users all think the sun shines out of their asses.0|20|0
- what if i told you i was high right now?
what side you think id be for2|10|1 - I am neither for or against dope. I do not care. I just HATE the smell. Beyond that, I am terribly indifferent.1|00|0
Regarding your update... I will say this, CBD is pretty damn good pain reliever. I’ll that over OTC or even prescription any day. I totally agree with your update.
- I would not use personally, but I have no problem with other adults using.0|00|0
- It actually did help me with my inflammation one time when i vacationed in California. It's sadly illegal in my place. I would say i am just neutral because have mixed feelings with marijuana.1|00|0
- Never smoke here is not legal and hard to find good quality one also but yeah someday I will be curious enough and in the right place0|00|0
