When someone says " I am sorry that you feel" or "I am sorry that you think" Is this an apology? Why explain this?

  • Not in my book an apology to me would be a direct statment like I'm sorry..Sorry that you feel or think is a person saying that they aren't wrong and did nothing of that nature. I've had that quite a bit of times where people just say it to me in that way.I tell them that the problem was not with me if it really was not.

  • They are saying they care about your feelings, but are also being clear that they don't believe they have done something wrong. They are not apologizing, they are expressing concern for you.

  • It just means that they don't feel they've done anything wrong, or maybe you've misunderstood.

    That's all.
