Which would you rather be asked by a friend/crush?

We were casual friends from school. We dated a few years ago , but only for a month. My first boyfriend so we didn't get past making out. Unexpected work opportunity came up unexpected for me and I had to leave. We never really talked things over, then life happened and we were in different places. I was not involved with anyone from then to now. I was not in a place for dating.

We have been friends again for a year. I'm ready to start dating. I still like him, i can tell he's still attracted to me and seems to like me, but i have NO idea if he's interested in anything. We have been sort of orbiting around each other for a month or so., but again i can not tell if this is an interest thing or just chemical reaction.

I want to take things slow so i have waited before saying anything, but it's been a few months since i was aware i was ready to try again. And, as i've never really been in a relationship, if he's not interested i'm going to move on so i can be open to others. I want to tell him as simply but unmistakably clear as possible.

Of my three options , which would you choose to say, or prefer to hear?

Why? Because this is someone I'm familiar with and know.

- Do you want to go out? - Sort of scared to start new. They might not be compatible with me and then I'll have to start over again.

😅 It's probably the real reason I haven't accepted any date offer that might turn into something serious.

yeah.. thats my neutral version. its like im offering to stay OR go in the question. its non committal. which is usually a mistake bc it makes people feel you're ambivalent.. but i guess it can work on people who feel pushed into a corner easy.

well i mean i did f up. so we do have sordid history and, i feel like he may not want to say 'no' bc he still has feelings, a the same time hew may not just me enough to say yes. or maybe he already tried to move on and doesn't want to be brought back.

so i want a clear answer. i mean reminding hm i should move on f he's not interested MIGHT help him not just say yeah to be nice. or avoid saying no.

i mean i asked the question bc i was at the point where i was trying to decide if i should move on so its relevant. but it might not be a good place to ask from. not sure. i think you're supposed to be optimistic when asking people out. but i know he might say no bc i messed up so being all yippy yippy seems a bit disingenuous. i guess im sort f trying to acknowledge im aware i messed p and i understand if he doesn't want me-in the question. thats how it came about.

Do you think itd be good to briefly ap;eulogize for before. i mean the point i basically it might've seemed like i dint like him but i did and still do. so i thought maybe saying im sorry for how things were s not unreasonable. BUT i dont want him mistaking an apology for pleading. bc asking if he wants to start over is separate from acknowledging my mistake. and i wouldn't use one to fuel the other. i think its tasteless.

to avoid this i can apologize first and ask another time. or ask first and apologize another time.

which order would you go in?

and do you think giving two weeks to think it ver is reasonable?
