Would you be in a relationship with someone who’s been to prison?

Depends on which crime. I catogorize It in 3 different types:
1. Not forgivable
2. Forgivable
3. Things that should't be illegal on the first place

1. Murder, Attempted murder etc. and these kind of things is never acceptable and that would be no chance of being in a relationship. If you committed something that you destroyed
other humans life I want nothing to do with you.

2. Assault, theft etc. I would maybe if she had genuine change and prove that she isn't the same person as when the crime was committed. Irrationality and mistakes happens to everyone some more serious then other and you shouldn't be punished for it rest of the your life. The most important thing is the you have learn something from it and understand the consequences of it and why it's wrong.

3. The law isn't always black and white and if one has been in prison for things that I don't find immoral i see the law book as a problem rather then the person. So yes I would defintly be in a relationship with these people.

No because I have standards and one of those is a person who knows right from wrong and has the moral capacity to make the right choice.

I don't for one second subscribe to the argument that anybody can make a wrong choice or turn their lives around simply because they made the choice which landed them there to begin with.

Millions of other people go through the very same experiences daily and never make the choice that will land them in jail.

On top of that, that somebody makes a choice that lands them in jail shows a sever lack of foresight and a sever lack of good judgement I don't want anybody like that in my life, and that's what I consider to be a basic standard for somebody I'd even consider to date let alone get into a relationship with that person

I definitely feel people can change I'm not perfect either and I hope they do and find somebody but I'm sorry it's not going to be me. Jail is different but you usually have to do something serious to go to prison and it's hard to get a good job also.

No. I get that everyone makes mistakes, but you have to make a pretty damn big mistake in order to get into prison. I would guess that they probably had very poor judgment, and possibly very poor control over their temper depending on what they did.

Probably the only way i can get a girl so yes. Depending if there crime is something outside my morals but my morals ain't to strick. examples of who i would date in prison, girl killed her abusive father totally okay with that would of killed the father for her, girl who robbed because she was desprate on low money.
Girl killed a rapist should would insta be my wife.
Girl who was clearly framed, girl who just had a rough childhood so been in there since teen through behaviour school and stuff.

Girl who got done for breaking into her's exs house and claming he still in love with her when they have a restraining order. i don't mind a passionate girl who wouldn't want to let me go.

This was the beginning of the end in my marriage. My ex-wife started communication and cheated with a prisoner that was doing 15 years for armed robbery. He did know she was married.
Lessons in life comes in many ways and many packages. After my marriage was over I somehow asked women "do they communicate with prisoners"? Then I ask "are they in love with a prisoner"?
I was on a second date when I asked that question to my date. The look in her eyes and expressions on her face. Well, I got up paid for dinner and said, " I lost my family over a prisoner ". Then I walked out.

As long as they meet the standards I've set in order to date someone and the crime they committed doesn't involve doing things to people they don't want done to them that isn't blackmail, extortion, to do with assets, murder (children excluded) I would.

Being in a relationship is kind of a choice you make. And the reason for them being in prison is somewhat more important. If it wasn't something serious or alarming, I don't think it should be a problem. Except for that, the reason, and how the person behaves and whatnot. It is gonna be way too different because we all have an idea of how prison is and what that person might have suffered inside the prison. So it's a difficult question.

Depends. Having a criminal record has a LOOOOT of confinements once you get out. Eg. You can't live in some buildings with a criminal record. You can't get certain jobs with a criminal record.

But then again, it depends on what he did. Eg. If he stole meds for a family member who was showing seizure symptoms, then I'd date them. It has to be a moral reason i guess.

It depends on why they were in prison. Not everyone goes for violent crimes some people in the past have been to prison for selling or buying marijuana a charge that is now laughable since several states have now legalized sale and distribution of that very drug. So yes I would.

Maybe wrongly get arrested... Or he accept others wrong as his...

Even he committed by his wish, but he is sincerely repent for it and try to be better human then also yes

You’d have to be more specific and deceive what you mean by that for me to answer. Are you talking a few hours? One night? Or years? Some people are harmless or innocent. Others definitely not. So it’s definitely not ideal but I don’t think I’d rule it out completely.

It depends on what they did

Did they shoot someone who was in the middle of raping, beating or otherwise harming a female, child, elderly individual, relative or beloved pet.

Commit a crime that involved covering up a crime that could be justified if the letter of the law hadn’t been followed.

Did they take the fall for a loved one.

Was it a violent offense.

Or did they have a spiritual awakening

Depends on the reason of why they were in prison.

I live in Catalonia and we have many people that end up in prison for having attended demonstrations, or having organised a referendum, etc. so these, yeah sure.

It depends on what their attitude was and what they went in for. If they were genuine and wanted to make a life change it could work out but I feel it would be important to date them for a while to make sure

Depends on the reason he's been to the prison. Heck, if he's gone to prison for a cause that is positive to me I'd actually be more attracted to him and possibly have it in the back of my mind that he must be really strong and resilient now.

I’ve been to jail so I understand there is a difference between prison and jail. If the question was dating someone who has been in jail then my answer is yes. But if I found out someone had spent time in a prison, no honestly I wouldn’t want to pursue a relationship with them.

If it's murder or animal abuse (Idk about other countries but in my country you can get at least 20 years in jail for that) then HELL NO
If it's assault or he just stole something then maybe yeah

I met one of the hottest girls of my life from a prison. She was in the women's prison here and out doing some community service. I would have relationshipped the heck outta her except I found out her crime was stealing money, and I like my money so I didn't want none of that in my life.

It isn't that easy to get locked up. You've either got to do something serious or be a persistent offender. I wouldn't take the risk.

Depends on why she was in prison. If she was wrongly sent to prison despite being innocent, I could probably still date her.
