Could someone with avoidant attachment be very emotionally open?

Anonymous
My boyfriend is basically displaying all symptoms of avoident attachment , except the fact that he is extremely vulnerable and emotionally open. He has a lot of self pity and our talks are usually about his anxiety and other emotions. He will openly tell me how he felt examples of how he talks: "I felt so deeply hurt inside" "whenever I am having panic attacks its such an extreme pain like real physical pain it hurts so much its so much pain" "I am so sad" "I don't feel validated enough by my parents" "it is always very distressful when you are angry at me"
"I had a panic attack again"
This doesn't really sound like the avoidant attachment but I can assure you that everything else fits.
