Has your brother/sister met the girl/guy you are interested in to make sure s/he is good for you?

I think it depends on your relationship with your sibling.

But it is not a bad idea! Because we humans are not perfect in our judgement anyway and it is not bad to have another close and loving person share their judgement with us (sibling, parent, close and genuine friend.. etc)

This would help us see things that we might have missed on our own.

I trust my judgement of people more than my siblings' judgement. And they're all three very close minded, whereas I'm far more open and accepting. So hell nah.

If they asked me to meet a potential partner for them, I would tell them to just be a grown up and put yourself out there like everybody else.

Essentially, I don't care what my family thinks about people I'm interested in. They aren't the ones tryna date em, so it ain't their business.

Not exactly what your question was about and for that I apologize but... my little brother has asperger's so it's important for me that my SO meet him and that they get along well, if they do then i know she's a good person haha

No. I'd find it patronizing and disrespectful if they asked to see my SO to ensure that I'm "seeing things clearly". I'd tell them to worry more about their own failing unhealthy relationships.
