How do you distinguish someone being interest in you VS being overly friendly?

The mere fact that someone is "ove4ly friendly" to you points to something. Flirt and see if they flirt back. Watch how they behave, do they want to spend time with you 1 on 1, how offten do they initiate conversation with you and do they do it because they need something. Do they try to be physically cloaw to you, touch you a lot, smile a lot, chuckle at every 5rd word you say to them etc, etc.

It's quite easy to notice. But when in doubt, drop in a hypothetical "you are so XYZ, i just have to call you out to a date before someone else beats me to it".

Good question. I am not normally a flirty person. But I believe in my last job I might have given off this vibe to someone. I say this because I saw someone comment on here that being playful with a guy normally attracts him to you. He stated that this was 100% works and person was probably attracted to me. But I dont think so. That was also not my intention. I saw this guy as a older brother & I would punch him lightly in the arm and grab him because I was bored & needed something to make the day less boring. However I did do this often. I just liked being around him. I am not sure if I gave off the wrong impression.

You definitely did cause like your doing things that girls do when they wanna show they like a guy technically speaking. Pulling him aside to spend time with him even if it's not in that way or punching him playful is breaking that contact barrier that normally girls have up. You see how it can sorta be misunderstood some girls are generally pretty overly nice so it can sometimes be confusing

@MLGbreezy Well to be fair I would pull him aside only for work related things. We never discussed personal things. It also seemed that he wasn't interested. He would stand and talk with other people for long periods but almost never did this with me. So i thought ot as sort of okay since he wasn't attracted to me. It was always me approaching him and he almost never approached me. It was more of a playful exchange. I never thought of it like something else. Then again, you could say may be he didn't want to seem unprofessional in work place.

If a person was attracted to you they would probaby talk with you a lot about personal things, initiate conversations, laugh around you a lot, smile, stare and always try to be around you. Also if a girl approaches for random things it might be that they are looking for an excuse to talk. It not just touch.

I think the best way is just to read the room essential , the atmosphere when you to interact does it feel flirty. Because I recently did I counter this situation with a girl and even now when I see her I'm like baffled cause she is just really nice.
