Opinions about love and distrust?

I think it's a little bit of both, not exactly one or the other, it can be love in the sense because they love you they find the idea of someone else trying to get at you or get to know you disturbing, as any person would not like that. It can also be distrust but I don't think it necessarily means they don't trust you its more of a personal thing some people get jealous easier than others but that could be insecurities or past trauma. So it's hard to pinpoint one exact reason when it can be a combination of many things.

Don't mix two feelings, love is feeling affection for someone, and in the jealously is feeling hate for someone, it is happens in very rare case that hate feelings turn into love feelings.
