It's actually pretty self-hating behavior if you ask me, rather sexist against themselves.

Only times I've heard guys speak on the matter at all if it wasn't about preferring a stay-at-home wife it's them saying they would rather have a girl who works solely because they don't want kids.

So a stay-at-home wife doesn't do them any service. Which is a reasonable response, but yeah men don't talk down about stay-at-home wives, it's really only women that do that

Why would we look down on them? That's the point of feminism. They get to make a choice on what they want to do. Now if they are being forced to do it because of their spouse and they actually do want to be in the workplace well then we have a problem with the spouse.
