I think it depends on how you interpret Islam, because whilst Islam is one religion, people follow it in different ways, like you get Sunni Muslims who say Shia's aren't true Muslims and vice versa, then you get Quranists, Sufi's Ahmadis and then people call other groups none-Muslims.

Coming from a different sect, doesn't always guarantee that you'll be totally different to someone from another ones e. g. there's probably some Sunni sects that are closer in terms of beliefs to Shias, than other Sunnis.

Ultimately, follow what you think it right and as for the hijab answer, I think the majority of Muslims would believe that it's right, but I think Quranists are more likely to believe that it's not, because they follow the Quran alone and some don't believe the Quran tells you to cover your hair.

In terms of it making you a none-Muslim, I highly doubt it'd make you a none-Muslim, I mean if you believe it's mandatory to wear it, but decide not to, it would make you a sinner for going against your religion, but I don't think that being a sinner would remove a person from being a believer, unless you commit a major/unforgivable sin, because no religious person is perfect and all have likely sinned at some point, whether Muslim, Christian, Jew, etc.

If you believe in religion along with a heaven/hell, think for yourself, because as far as I'm aware, religion tells us we're all responsible for where we end up, so choose whatever path you think it's right.

Strictly speaking that's a matter of interpretation. And to the best of my recollection all that is truly said is a rather brief segment where women are encouraged to cover their beauty so as not to distract a man who needs to do something other than admire it. It is then listed that the hair is beautiful.

There isn't actually any mention of how to do it. This furthermore does not get a central or repeated role but is a one-off comment that might as easily have been a polite way of saying "no intimate relationships at work". Which is a common company policy. Its not like it is a heavenly commandment. Its a casual remark about something not to do with any specific clothing.

Honestly speaking it is quite strange how this has become such an integral part of Islam.

The pork thing I get. There is evidence that hints at a flue at the time and it has been heavily theorized that the whole "pigs are dirty" was simply a way to stop the spread of a pandemic by prohibiting what was otherwise the most convenient and affordable source of meat. Had it been a cow flue muslims would instead avoid cows today. I don't fault anyone for it but would be happy if context was used when interpreting.

Anyway before I jump over and saw other abrahamistic religions too, if you believe in the important bits and you want to view yourself a muslim then you can. Simple as that.

I think that is up to you and how you perceive your religion. No one can tell you that you are or aren't Muslim, only you can decide that for yourself.

Religion is what you believe. I am a Christian, but in the last 20 years, I have not been to a church service. This doesn't make me any worse of a person; I pray in private and I do feel like God is looking after me.
If you feel that you don't need to cover your head, that is fine with me. As a friend, I do want to know that you are a muslim: I know that Friday is your "holy day", I know that you need Halaal food.
I lived in South Africa, where I had first-hand experience with muslims.
