Have you read the Qur'an?
I understand the archaic English too. We were made to read literature in school. Is it accurate? That's the main question.
If you are completely familiar with Arabic, my advice would be to just download it and judge for yourself. It's free. I do know that there is one translation that, according to those who have been able to make a comparison with the original Arabic, is really terrible - the N. J. Dawood translation. Avoid that one.
Thanks. Have you read the Qur'an?
Only in English, although I've read different versions by different translators. About five in all, including the Itani and Dawood translations.
Are you a Muslim?
No. I just have a very diverse range of interests, which includes religion. I've read the Bible as well (English Standard Version).
Nice. Do you follow a religion or are you an atheist?
I'm not really sure what to believe, because there are good arguments both for and against the existence of God. I'm not an atheist, because atheists are certain God or anything supernatural is not real, but that's a level of certainty I'm not willing to embrace. It's kind of arrogant to think we have answers to questions like these, because we just don't know.
I would love to be your friend then.
