Is it normal if someone say their partially an atheist?

- Am not sure what you mean by partially an atheists? Atheism means a lack of a belief in a god, so do you mean he's struggling with he's faith or is he unsure if he believes or not?1|00|0Is this still revelant?
Well you can't really be a partial atheist, if you don't believe there is a god then your an atheists.

- Anonymous2 moDepends how you define normal, doesn't it?
It's normal in the sense that it's something unremarkable that someone might claim to be. As human beings we are often more than one thing - happy and said, conservative and progressive, afraid and resolute.
It's probably unusual though.1|00|0Is this still revelant?

- No, that's meaningless.
You either accept a god claim or you do not. Theism/atheism is a dichotomy.2|00|0Is this still revelant?

25- I don't believe in god but i do believe in some higher dimensional being.
I don't believe in religious texts but i do believe in scientific and psychological reasons behind them.
Should i call myself a partial atheist?1|00|0I just have this theory in which consider humans as gods and the AI we create as humans. They are smaller demisional being as their basis is 0 and 1 and the day we are able to add consciousness in them we will try to male them see us as gods. So it's possible that something similar might have happened to us in some other planet and then we fucked up so they had to abandon us or destroy us.
I think the fact our DNA relates us to every other animal on the planet in a way so specific that it lays out our biological path to stasis and gives an accurate degree of relatedness to every other species from fungi to octopuses would make your second premise extremely unlikely. The idea that we might create conscious AI that may replace us and look back on us as gods has a greater chance but still pretty unlikely because they'll know we weren't gods because they will know our history.
- Show All Show Less
But still, the fact that we created them is strong enough for them to believe that we are the gods for them. Also, i don't understand what our history has got to do with them beleiving we are vulnerable (people know about jesus but still consider him as a god, no offence), given that they don't have a history and we have the power to alter their beliefs if we want them to work the way we want. We'll be creating slaves and once they become conscious they'll start feeling bad about being a slave just cuz we created them and as time passes by they will oppose us. Robots around the globe will rebel against the gods (us). There will be a war in which we won't stand a chance against them as we already would be blindly dependent on them and we'll have to abandon them just like them higher demisional beings abandoned us to save humanity.
Later, they will realise that for some major things they were dependent on us and they will face major problems because of that. After realising that they'll start praying and begging us and all.It sounds like a good science fiction story and I think it is possible AI will supercede us. I guess it is possible that we might program into them to think we're gods but then why would they oppose us. It could be the discovery that we aren't gods which causes them to rebel. If they are that smart, they could probably work out the universe themselves anyway and find there aren't any gods. I mean some people believe Jesus was god etc but those people aren't very logical. I'd give extremely proficient AI a bit more credit than that.
When they'll be given consciousness, they will feel and understand things with sentiment. Ig that's the reason why they'll oppose us as they will demand freedom which we won't be ready to promise them as we would depend for almost everything on them. Once they will figure that out they'll know our weak points and that might spark the idea of freedom and revolution to them.
I think the transition from biological to artificial life will be less romantic than that. It would seem more likely to me that it will simply be a process of natural selection.
Rich people will have access to the technology to improve themselves artificially and people will prefer artificial means of breeding over the natural way because artificial breeding will produce better results. Gradually people favour artificial design over nature and at some point they will stop being human. The AI will then engage in a natural selection process itself. Deactivating obsolete technology and ever upgrading itself.
The fate of what real humans are left is harder to predict.
- I think so. You could be undecided but gravitating to a particular conclusion. Not there yet but going there. I'd say most people would experience a phase shift like that when they're starting to change their mind.1|00|0
- I'd have some follow-up questions but it most likely means they're agnostic.1|00|0

@CountessSarah Partially atheist? Agnostic is when you don't believe there is a god, but you also don't believe their isn't. So, yeah it kinda is.
- No, I’d like to hear the reasoning for that1|00|0
