I've recently noticed an increase in witches coming up in pop culture, and the numbers of people become interested in the practice. From research I have gotten the impression that Witchcraft and the practice of Wicca are two different things, so my question is which one do you practice and what has your experience been like? I find the topic and history very interesting so feel free to share whatever you feel comfortable with:) Also I included a poll to get an idea of the population on gag, have fun!

I ran a Wiccan group for 8 years. I usually just call myself a non denominational pagan though. The term Witch comes from the middle English word for wise or cunning. It is intentionally gender neutral Wit and Wice being gendered terms for wise. Modern Wicca is an attempt to recreate the beliefs and practices of those old systems. How successfully they do that is certainly up for debate. One of the problems you run into is there is no witchcraft cannon and anyone can call themselves a witch and there is no central authority that can say that they are not. So you have a bunch of people claiming all kinds of stuff and much of it fanciful at best, outright deceitful at worst. Plus old King James had big issues with witches and much of his hate and smear campaigns still color modern people's interpretations of the old craft.

I dated a Wiccan, in college, but nothing like in these pictures. Maybe she was a different kind of Wiccan? White "Witch" kind? These images look like Dark, and Evil. Her Way was Earth Mother, and Spirituality, and loving nature, and communing with the Earth Mother and the Animals, the trees, stones and all living things, in a positive way.
Yes what you described is the correct description of the wiccan religion as far as I know. The photos I included doesn't represent any particular type of witch, since I know a lot of them wear black but that doesn't mean they are evil in most cases. A lot of modern witches have thier own style and aesthetic, so don't take what I posted as a general representation.
@Alpha09 OK, cool!! My lady was more like one of the "Hippies" in the late 1960's, and she was loving being naked in the forest, calling it "Communing" with the Earth Mother. . .
@Alpha09 Beyond "WOW"!! She was all about loving, and helping, caring, and never stopped! Of all the ones I dated, she was the best!! I miss her the most!

One day witches will get saved before "fake believers" and they will prophesy against the fake believers and rebuke them for not teaching them the Truth.
The LORD has spoken and loves all, and the ignorant unbelievers will be saved before "fake believers".
"to know to do good and do it not is sin."

This is GaG. You had better be careful.
We still got guys who believe in trials for witches.
The majority of them are living in thier parents basements with nothing better to do but have opinions on things they know nothing about. The ones who would actually do something I'm not worried about either.
I am a Wytch and I am a male and I have been a practicing Wytch since I was 12, even joined a coven which sadly went online as members moved to different cities.
