Christian people, why are you Christian? Convince me?

- Most Chirstians are unskilled in apologetics, and don't really care about the things of God. Three is only one other Christian on this forum who is even trying to witness to anybody in any way, and I am not a Chrisitan, and one other guy gets banned every time he comes back, same as I get banned every few weeks.
the people answering this thread have no rational basis for their answers, they just give "opinion" for no reason.
Try reading some of my threads from a week or two ago, where I presented all four major rational arguments for the existence of God and why they work and how they are connected to one another.
People on this thread blaming God for not revealing himselff more. Weak believers and unbelievers blame God for all their problems. Mature believers reason about the situation and pray about it to find out what they coudl do better.0|01|0Is this still revelant?Don't listen to anything this guy says. He's a creep.
Do you think I'm a hypocrite/pervert for this? ↗

- Anonymous1 moI can't 'prove it' to you because no one can prove or disprove the existence of God.
Personally, I am a Christian because it makes sense to me. Before I knew about God and Christianity (so during my childhood before I was introduced to it), I was deeply confused/borderline depressed with life because I couldn't get my head around why we were here and what the point of life was. 'Atheism' just didn't work for me. When I found Christianity, I felt like I found the missing puzzle piece.
Additionally there is just so much about the universe that indicates there is a higher power, which I believe to be God. History hides a lot from us. For example, the pyramids in Egypt could not be built even today as we do not have the technology to lift stone as heavy as that even now. Why does no one talk about this? Because it doesn't fit in with the theory of evolution.0|10|0Is this still revelant?- Opinion Owner1 mo
Well as I said, no one can prove anything to you or even convince you. I would say if you're interested to look deeper into it and not rely on what people just tell you.
I would say the majority of Christians don't have a great understanding of the true message of the Bible anyway so its always best to do your own research.
- You don't have to believe in anything you don't want to believe. My mother is a Christian and my father is an atheist they never told me to follow this or that I just simply chose to be a Christian because that's what I identify with based on what I read and studied.0|10|0Is this still revelant?

- I'm Christian Ortodox.
I was introduced to this faith from my earliest days. I wasn't even 3 months old when I was baptized in church. I have grown up with the church and the Christian teachings since I know myself.

32- A thousand years ago it was a fact the earth was flat. At one time it was a fact that the sun revolved around the earth.
I believe there is intelligent life forms throughout the universe. Can I prove it? Nope. But lack of proof does not mean something does not exist.0|00|0 - I feel like no religion is 'true', there are truths/lessons and lies in all0|00|0
I was born and baptized. A Christian. But I honestly don't care about the bible or the church. If God's there I don't understand why he didn't make it known to the world that his people were... HIS PEOPLE. And that the word of God isn't perfectly translated. Because there are so many religions and people fight over who is right.
God who does not like liars. I've heard biblical scholars say that Jesus was not born in the winter. Yet we celebrate it in the winter, we accept that lie, that doesn't add up.
Also then there are Christians who look down or are straight up disrespectful towards people who aren't religious or who have a different religion. So much for 'love thy neighbour'. Also people getting killed for religion, nailed to a cross, tortured, ... Why would He let His followers and their families go through that horrible stuff when they have recognized Him as the True god.

I'm full with questions too. The God I would believe in is one that treats it as a spectator show and has our lives be nothing more than a test. Giving us the freedom to do good or bad things, to see who deserves a place in 'heaven', you know.
But I don't fully agree with that, because there are so many faithful people who get killed. Why does he not have them prosper as a people, their health, their fortune, their lands, etc...
I've experienced paranormal activity before, like furniture moving, shadows that aren't there, a perfectly operational door closing on it's own, with the handle being used while there's nobody there. Only because of that, I leave the idea open that He's out thereSo I'm not exactly following a religion, if He's out there, He knows that I'm looking for the truth, and nothing more
the commandment says, "Thou shalt not hate thy neighbor in thy heart, though shalt in any wise love thy neighbor and rebuke thy neighbor and not suffer sin upon him."
You MIS QUOTED the commandment. Jesus MISQUOTED THE COMMANDMENT. What I wrote in quotes is what MOSES said in Leviticus, the entire commandment in contexts REQUIRES the believer to REBUKE the sinner, otherwise you do not love the sinner.
- I can’t prove what you refuse to believe. I am Christian and I have Faith in God. All I can do is love my neighbor and live the best I know how. It’s up to you to decide what you believe in.0|10|0
