Do they have any meaning. Do you think it would be fair?
I have not idea I haven't died yet to answer that question.
That's only for one religion, so you shouldn't say "for religious ones", you should say "for christians".
@devilman666 the concept of heaven, hell, a god or many gods. Punishment and a reward system is quite similar across most religions. Especially the big 3 that cover pretty much half the world population right now
Not true, sure there are religions like Zoroastrianism which have a heaven and hell similar to Christianity, but Judaism, and by extension, Christianity stole from zoroastrianism and the bablyon religions which were much older. Your story of a world wide flood comes from the babylon religion, in the epic of gilgamesh there is a stort about a worldwide flood which predates the hebrew bible. Either Zoroastrianism or the Mesopotamian faith were the origin of heaven and hell. You are correct that most religions use punishment and reward to control the followers but this doesn't extend to all religions, mostly just organized ones. Many Pagan religions don't focus on such things at all, so it really depends on the religion. Personally I think the reason so many religions are like this is because it offers extra control, which makes it much less likely the religion will ever die out. If you fear hell then you won't turn from God, even if you're unsure of his existence.By big 3 do you mean Christianity, Islam, and athiesm? Or Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism? Cause non religion is technically 3rd but I don't know if it counts, hinduism is 4th.
And what is the meaning of it?
I can't think that you don't know about hell and haven, in a way of other. So i'm thinking that you expect a certain story.
Of course I know but I wonder if there's any meaning to it.
What meaning. Haven is the paradis, eternal happines...Hell is the place wher people sufer and burn all the time whidout dieing...In the bible is say that thous you can get clean from the fire of hell at the second coming of Jesus will olso come in havel, whitch thous who can't will disapear whit the devil and all the hell forever.
Isn't that unjust?
Why be unfair. We know what to do if we want eternal happiness. We have people to guide us. We have the divine teachings.Through our actions we choose where we are going or want to go.
I mean people change over their lifetimes some multiple times
True, thous who are good will go to haven.Ortodox say that you can tell to a person he is bad or good, because they can change. The good person if he become bad will lose the have.If the bad person become good he will win the have.I see nothing fairer than being your own judge in this life. You have the laws, you decide for yourself who you fall into and how guilty you are and what you deserve as punishment or reward. You can win a very small house in heaven or a real palace. You can gain a place on the surface of hell or its depths.
Death makes life meaningful if there's an afterlife it's meaningless to the least.
The afterlife is meant as a REWARD or as PUNISHMENT, depending on many factors.
Yes I understand that but if it's infinite it's meaningless. Just because you really want to believe in something doesn't mean it's true
Well if it’s HEAVEN, you will want it to be infinite. Don’t try to comprehend how or why etc, because your limited mind cannot fathom it. And trust that the God who created you knows what to do with you.
And it’s not meaningless. The SOLE and only reason you’re even here right now, is because there is a POINT and it’s a means to get to the afterlife!!
Well, if you believe in that.
I strongly do!!
I believe you do
