1) A while back I got the number of an old childhood friend (girl) and texted her just to see if she could remember me. In her reply she sounded really exited to hear from me and asked me what I was doing lately. I answered and asked the same question but she never replied. A few days after that I sent her another text just to tell her I just wanted to say hello and that she and her sister can ask me anytime for help since they don't live that far from me (My mother told me where they live). She also didn't reply to that one.

2) Recently I joined a Meetup group to do some hiking while getting to know new people. After the second meetup I messaged this girl I know from the first meetup and asked her if she would mind answering a question or 2 about the route her group took. (At some point the groups split between the fast and slow groups) She replied : "No, not at all! You're more than welcome to ask?". After that I asked her a question about the route they took but she didn't answer me.

In both scenarios I used WhatsApp and I can see they have read it, but they are just ignoring me. I can understand if they don't want to talk to me, but why give me a positive answer just to ignore me later?

If they waited, until I returned to groups, to have anyone back them up on their claims, over something
that is not true and relevant, my cousins says, to me "Now, you told me that you complimented them,
said they looked nice, I don't know, like in a writing meetup or just any meetup, you can't just be coming on to people, talked down to me like a kid, I feel like, meetups are designed to set up more exclusive
groups of cliques, where losers like me are left out of, if you have not went anywhere in life and don't
have friends, don't expect to get any from them, it's not a fan club and I get that, but it is a way of saying, "We want you to be a 'puppet,' whatever you want to talk about, it can be within the group, sure,
but you can't open up, if you do, you will make us feel uncomfortable and offend us." My Cousin knew,
how to push my buttons on the subject, but is it the right ones to push?

Should I just give up this whole "meetup" journey and just read self-help books? You see, I have signed up and RSVP'd for a group meet-up, it's every Friday and Saturday. At first, I chickened out of going, because I was
tood tired to go, last month in (January) because I would find myself asking to get a ride downtown,
by my mother, younger brother and cousin; who both have a car and then in this month (February),
the Super Bowl and Auto Show would bring a lot of traffic blocking me from going and I practiced dancing, by watching dance videos on youtube, I know that in my posts to the organizer, I said, "I'm sorry, I couldn't make it, something has came up twelve times and to please
keep the meetup going, I like it and it is popular." Twelve times, it didn't come off rude or abbrasive,
but this past weekend had her assistant organizer send me this, "Hi, 'the organizer' would like it if you would stop commenting on her comments page, please honor her wishes, Thank you!"
Now, I don't know, what I did to deserve that or what I ever did to her, but it left a big whole in my heart like I offended her or something, I comment him back on it and he repeated it back to me, saying, "It's just her." I said, "Well, she shouldn't be running a meetup if she has an attitude like that."
My thing is that, how could someone so different and mean, be a meetup Organizer, respond to me that way? she's supposed to be fun and hip, not uptight and stuck up!
I detest these "different people?
