Search Results: dating a talkative girl

This girl at my new office is shy. We haven’t spoken more than a few words to each other. But recently many of us went out for drinks after work. After a couple of beers, she became more talkative. Anyway, two things she said made me wonder whether she likes me:

1. A male co-worker was teasing her and another male co-worker, saying, “So, you’re an item then?” Then, even though I hadn’t said anything, she looked directly into my eyes and said, “No, we’re just friends!”

2. Later, we were talking as a group about something totally unrelated to relationships/dating. Then suddenly she turned to me and asked, “[My name], do you have a girlfriend?” I didn’t get to answer, because someone cracked a joke about something totally different (actually, I don’t think the others heard her ask me that question).

Girls, do you think she has some feelings for me?

Then suddenly she turned to me and asked, “[My name], do you have a girlfriend?” I didn’t get to answer, because someone raised a totally unrelated point that made us all laugh and steered us all to another topic (in fact, I don’t think the others heard her ask me that question).

So, does this girl like me? Of course we can’t be sure, but, on balance, what do you suspect? Girls, what would motivate you to act the way that she did?
