A male buddy of mine that i hang out with almost everyday says he only sees me as a friend yet he is over protective of me and always wants to hang out with me... he pushes away guys that like me yet he is always talking to girls.

he was saying that he needs to find a gf soon and that he's lonely and i took offence and told him that i wanna end the friend ship then he hugged me and said that im important to him and so is the friendship and that he's confused about lots of things in his life... he also started crying shortly after i said this and we hugged each other tighlty then he went home and i went home.

But today i didn't hear from him... did i hurt his feelings? or does he have feelings for me? does he see me as more than a friend?

what should i do? do i give him space?

He also shows off about other girls to see my reaction lol. He also spanks my butt and gives me tight hugs as well whenever he sees me.

Does he have feelings for me or want me? or am i just a "friend" to him?

I've recently been trying to detox the "bad" relationships in my life. For example, I broke up with my boyfriend because it wasn't working out. We tried to stay friends after but he's now dating someone else and I didn't think it was healthy to remain friends with him.

I also cut out friends who constantly put me down, the ones who always make subtle racist jokes (they don't mean harm by it, but I'm sick of hearing about it), I'm a minority. I have confronted them about putting me down, and they apologized, but it doesn't help the fact that I feel like they never take me seriously or are subconsciously racist, and I can't help but feel a little resentment.

I cut out the friends who only show up to hang out when they have nothing better to do, if their boyfriend is busy and/or they got into a fight with him and need someone to talk to.

I recently started at a new school, so I'm trying to be proactive by joining organizations, etc. But it's awfully lonely. Lately I've been sitting around moping feeling sorry for myself, because this is supposed to be the best time of my life but I'm honestly depressed.

I have 2 friends left, but obviously I miss having the comfort of my old friendships.

However, I've always been a bit of a loner, having one or two close friendships rather than a huge group.

I'm just sick of waiting for things to happen and sick of feeling so sad all the time. I'm starting to think I'M the problem, and not the friends I cut out of my life.

Can anyone relate to this? When does it get better? (I'm 23, btw) Is there a point where life stops getting so lonely and I can just relax, be myself, and be around people I want to be around and that want to be around me?
