My girlfriend and I recently broke up and I don't quite yet know if it is permanent or what...,

We've only been dating the last few weeks and haven't really had that much time together but things were going awesome!, however in my past I have a bad history of family members having a problem with alcohol where they would become abusive and aggressive when they drunk alcohol. Needless to say because of that I find myself extremely uncomfortable around people who drink alcohol and I personally do not drink at all myself.

My girlfriend (perhaps ex...) however enjoys drinking alcohol. she did not however drink so far while she was with me, I told her about why I do not like it and would prefer she didn't drink. She told me that she "is not ever changing, and that she enjoys it so won't stop!". we talked about that a lot and she would say "your family history is not going to guilt me, I had nothing to do with it so whatever!"...

I was prepared to accept it even though though I highly dislike it and I wanted a compromise. I told her that she can drink even though I found it unpleasant for girls to do and smells disgusting to me however that "i will not kiss until that scent is gone from your mouth" and "i do not want to be around when you drink". but I was happy to be with her after it.

She really hated this and told me "I'm not changing!" and got really angry that I would not be around her and how as a boyfriend to her that I SHOULD accept it.

I feel extremely guilty but id like another persons opinion?
