My psycho ex was acting like she did not care about me anymore. Which was fine for me. We just casually talked online -she started the conversations.- As I felt this was preventing me from moving on, I went no contact and blocked her out of every online service. Coincidentally, those days I was moving out of my apartment for work reasons to a different but not really too far away city and as a result of this I did also change phone numbers. Now she truly has no way of finding me except for sending me emails.

She seemed like she did not give a damn about me anymore, but I keep receiving emails form her telling me how hurtful it is what I am "doing to her." And about how horrible of a person I am for disappearing from her life without giving an explanation. -Consider that I broke up with her more than a year ago.-

Should I provide explanation, breaking the no-contact rule? Or should I just leave her to find solutions to her own problems? I would like to hear your opinions.

So here's the deal. I've been working for a major lingerie brand for about two years now and am currently being mentored into a management position. I had been single for about a year before that due to me moving across the country and she didn't want to deal with the distance.

So since I started working there, whenever where we work comes up on a date or when a woman asks about it, they have a few reactions. Firstly they don't believe me as for some reason "men aren't allowed to work in a place like that," even though it would be sexist to not allow me to work there, haha. These are in no particular order:

They think I'm gay

They think I'm weird

They ask me what my discount is and if I could get them some stuff using it and they would pay me back. (yes this happens, and sadly quite often, even on a date)

I even understand that it can be intimidating to date a guy who works there as I do work pretty much exclusively with women as well as that women are the large majority of my customer base.

So I am a masculine guy, I work out multiple times a week, train in martial arts, enjoy action flicks, etc. I just happen to be really good with fashion, colors, designs, matching, complimenting items, perfumes, customer service, etc.

This is a great career for me, the company is really pushing me to grow in their company as they expand and are offering me a great benefits package and salary once I complete the mentoring program. The one downside it seems is that it is the plague on my love life. I even asked some of the other managers (they are all female at my store) and they've known straight men who do what I do but they tend to remain single by and large for quite a while until they either hit corporate level or quit the company.

So what gives? Care to explain your opinion on dating a guy in such a situation and why women seem to be obsessed with getting my discount but not my heart, or heck, even into my pants?

I posted a silly question yesterday about a female employee that works for me. In all seriousness, I'll be moving to Boston in April. The future of my company is in serious doubt. Work has been slow this entire month. Mel, my employee, knows about the coming uncertainty. She wants to take over much of the duties, after I leave. The idea is not completely absurd. This is her letter of recommendation I wrote to myself. Feel free to ask interview questions.

Mel was the second person hired when this company changed management 5 years ago. She started as a part-time an “Assistant Marine Aquarium Maintenance Technician,” and has since worked her way up to semi full-time “Showroom Manager.” She knows the the products and services we provide as well as I do. She has shown excellent potential in project management, client relations, and sales. However, I’m can’t say she with confidence she is ready to assume the role of “Director of Business Development and Project Management.”

There is an urgent need for a take-charge individual to assist in restructuring operations. She must be unafraid to lead the way forward in defining in new business processes that are better suited to meet the demands of our present as well as future clients. Furthermore, she must be ready and able to assume all project management activities from day one.

Our company has grown beyond far beyond expectations. We’ve had to stretch the boundaries our organization to meet the market demand for our services. Unexpected growth does have set backs, the company is poorly managed, business operations are inefficient, and there is no clearly defined business process. I take sole responsibility for the consequences we face if no action is taken.

In a perfect world, Mel is the ideal candidate for this position. This company in unique in the services we provide. It would be hard for someone who has no firsthand knowledge to understand varied and sometimes dissimilar tasks required to operate. Mel has been here to witness exactly how we started and the exact motives that influenced decisions steering us to where we are today.

Mel has the ability; I don’t know that she has the motivation. Again, much of the blame rests on my shoulders. I am responsible for the laissez-faire culture and unprofessional practices that currently exist. However, I’m not responsible for the lack of pride or the deficiency in maturity she has yet display, a key requirement to execute the tasks required. She must understand. This job is no completing a list of duties and going home. Her job is running a profitable company. She has the responsibility to continue the upward trend in profit for her stakeholders, and she is responsible for stable employment for our staff.
