I've been seeing a girl who is a potential girlfriend for about 3 weeks now. We talk/FaceTime every day as well as hanging out with her on the weekends. We consistently talk throughout the day from morning to night. I've met her immediate family such as her mom and dad. Although this may be true, her birthday is this week and due to the fact I'm away at school on weekdays, I have an idea of sending her something to her house from me to her on the day of.

Trying to figure out if what she said is true.

I offered to take a girl friend, who I had been acquainted with for 10 years and her kids, ages 12 and 15, on a road trip that cost about $1000. I paid for most occasions when we were together except for a few scenarios like going to the zoo or if she bought chinese. She is pretty cheap. She had just decided to end with her boyfriend that week, so I offered to take them on a get away. She never wanted to be my girlfriend as she didn't want that, but I wanted to be part of their life and I would spend a lot of time with them. I even had met two of her boyfriends including the last one she was ending with.

She arrived late the night before after packing everyone up and the car full of stuff. The next morning she went to her car and came back and said she forgot to lock her car and the money she brought and some gift cards were stolen and that someone had been in her car and she could smell the smoke. She noted it was hundreds of dollars in total, around $700-$800 total. I didn't know what to say, we hadn't talked about money and such so I believed what she said.
