Not long ago (around 6 months ago), I met a friend online. I was infatuated by him, enjoyed his company, and so on, despite him being in a different country. I was always very into him, and he knew. You could say we had a thing for each other at one point (or maybe it was just me).

That broke off when I blocked him everywhere after he said something that hurt me severely. Two months ago, we reconnected, and I told him all the things I wanted to tell him, but never actually did. It was only after I blocked him that I realized I was in love with him.

He told me he regretted hurting me, and I told him I still loved him. I never specified whether I loved him as a friend or as something more than that. He never asked.

We sometimes talk about the "what if's" and the possibilities and how strong the emotions we felt for each other were. I don't think my love for him ever died out. We still talk every now and then.

Today, I came across a post on Reddit that reminded me of him. I messaged him, and I asked him, "Will I ever have a chance with you?"

Was it too straight-forward to send a message like that?

Tl; dr: I have feelings for a guy, we both know each other very well. Sent him a risky text about the almost-relationship.
