Search Results: my mom is an alcoholic

long story short, my sister is pregnant (16). I've attempted to move out before she got pregnant and my mother is really attached to me, so she got upset. I'm getting older by the second (24) and I think it's pretty ridiculous that I'm still at home, especially with the baby coming. I'd do some good giving up my room for the nursery anyhow since it's the farthest from my mom's room, so if the baby cries, she'll be able to sleep.

nevertheless, here's why I want to move out:

- I have a curfew. if I come in after 10 o'clock, it's generally a problem (phone calls, lock outs, complaining about me/my friends

- I JUST got a key to my house and I still get locked out via screen door. I'm also only allowed to have a key to the front door.

- my friends cannot come over, never had, never will

- I got a bottle of wine for my b-day and my mother took it and hid it because "an alcoholic" (and yes, that was a real argument) so I basically can't have a drink

- I don't have any privacy. I had to change the lock my bedroom door and lock it when I leave because my mother goes through my stuff in search of something

- my mother gets help with her mortgage, and me being in the house makes it more expensive since they count my income. if I leave, it'll be more affordable

- the baby issue is huge. I cannot tolerate seeing that

with that being said, I just don't feel like I have freedom. here's the perks of being at home

- comfort. I know my neighborhood and I know I'm not alone

- financially, I pay little, I guess. just my own personal expenses (groceries, cell, clothes, etc), cable (around 90 a month), minor household expenses (groceries, cleaning supplies, gas in the car), and randomly month payment to my mom, depending on car usage (100 here, 300 there)

- my mom is happy and comfortable

- I'd be able to help with the baby even though I'm trying to not get involved

bottom line, should I stay or should I go?
