A lot of science fiction movies have put forth the scenario that in space, two astronauts create life...and then what. As far as NASA is concerned, or as far as we know, no two astronauts have ever had sex in space nor has a female astronaut ever been pregnant prior to, during her space flight, or while on the ISS.

However, if our goal is to eventually be able to live on another planet or potentially in space itself like on space stations, could we ever allow a pregnant woman in space. One could argue that an earth pregnancy is not a guarantee that a child will come to fruition or live once it's born, so would it be any more or less ethical? Obviously we also have no idea what would happen to the baby, the mother, and let alone what to do after the baby is born in space like could it ever be brought back to earth but years ago NASA refused to let women into space because they feared that having a period in space could somehow be detrimental to her health (also rampant sexism, but whatever) but obviously that had to be tested and here we are.

Should we test pregnancy in space or is it far too unethical to even try?

I'm only 23 and have no intention of having children just yet, but I think it is because of the fact that I know that I want children one day that makes me scared that I won't be able to. I think fertility in general is something that is so often taken for granted and people just assume that they will just be able to become pregnant whenever they want to. I also have a few friends who don't want to have kids, and that's fine for them, but I have just always wanted it, and I feel like because I'm the one who does, I won't be able to (I know that is a pretty stupid way to think of course, but I think it anyway). I am scared of leaving it too late, and if I can help it, would at least like to be in a position where I am trying or close to trying by the time I am 30. I figure at least if I encounter problems than I have more time to try/sort it out.
I am a hypochondriac, so I tend to be a lot more aware of conditions and things that can go wrong with the body. Every time I have the occasional irregular period or if I feel like I have hair in a place other girls don't, I will look it up on the internet and find all sorts of conditions stating infertility as a symptom. I know adoption is always an option, but I have always wanted to experience pregnancy when I am older, and would somehow feel like a let down to my husband (even though no one should in that position).
I think the most frustrating thing about fertility is literally that you don't know until it happens. You could be in perfect reproductive health and struggle to conceive whilst another may be told that will never have children and naturally fall pregnant. Anyway, my question is, do you worry about this even though you're not ready to have kids yet?
