we werent ever that close but a few weeks ago i had sex with this guy and i told my friend and i think she heard me. and now she looks at me weird and she looks unhappy or annoyed. but before she seemed to tolerate me more. people have sex and make out so I don't know why she is acting a little rude to me. like i said thanks and she ignored me and just looked at me. my friends said its probably because she likes the guy i slept with. the guy i was with is on the popular side. do you think thats why? she's superrrr shy though so I don't know.

So basically I ended up catching feelings for my best guy friend. I had a strong feeling that he felt the same way but we became so close so fast that it was just too weird to talk about it. We used to always say we love each other and what not and we almost hooked up one night while drunk. We have both hooked up with other people and told each other. About a month or so ago he started talking to someone but it quickly ended except they were still "just" hooking up. He would crap talk her non-stop to me and made it clear he would never want to date her. Well, we come back from break and he says that they are basically dating now. I was sad but I just kind of brushed it off and didn't want to let it interfere with our friendship. But now I'm just angry especially since he keeps acting like I have no reason to dislike her and doesn't understand why I don't want to hang out with them. Like, not only has this girl been rude to me and even some of my friends but he has even said she's a b*tch multiple times.
Anyways, I don't want to cause any problems if that's what he wants, but I just need space because I feel really hurt. For the past few days I've been basically avoiding him, but not in mean ways or anything. But now he's texting me asking if anything's wrong. I feel like I should just say no and play it off but at the same time I just want to be honest and tell him I feel like we can't be close friends right now. I obviously am not going to tell him about my feelings for him and put him in that position with his girlfriend, but at the same time I feel like I value him enough to at least tell him know that something is wrong and that I need space. But then again maybe I should just act like nothing is wrong. What do you think I should do?
