Im a college student and there is this professor that I'll admit I've always had a crush on. Although he is older and not married I never tried to signal my interest. The first semester was difficult because I really liked him and I would get really nervous so I avoided any contact or looking at him. Now I can control that better. The thing is in this 2nd semester, I've noticed he acts distant with me and a bit strange.

When he helps me, he avoids making eye contact. If I look at him he immediately looks down/away. Sometimes he looks at me when I'm not looking. I've noticed he will be a little mean but later comes with a softer tone as if he regrets been mean. He is not like this with the rest of the girls, he talks and jokes with them. Sometimes he will skip helping me.

What is up with this guy? Guys do you ever deliberately try to avoid eye-contact with some girls? And if so what are the common reasons why a guy would try hard to avoid eye-contact with a girl?

Trying my best to keep this as short as possible, so please, forgive me if this is too long. Anyway, here is the problem I've been having for like one year and a half now. So there is this boy who transfered to our class during 9th grade, we became good friends and frankly, I never believed I would end up having a crush on him. Anyway, so our classmates practically know that I have a crush on him and so does he., because of the way we both act so throughout the months his gotten.. distant. He would rarely talk to me, we wouldn't tease each other on things and give jokes. We are now in the 10th grade and now, I would notice he would always stare at me and when I notice he would turn away, I approached him in our class to start a conversation with him but he just said that I wasn't suppose to be next to him because our classmates would tease about us being a 'couple' The thing about it that I find really strange is that he can touch me, like on my arm, like for example I have this scar that is permanently there cause of him. Tease me, stare at me and sometimes talk to me but when I talk to him sometimes, he would ignore me, he doesn't want me touching him as well. I honestly and frankly do not know if he likes me and doesn't want our classmates to find out or it's a just teenage boy pride or his just nervous in certain situations. To me, he isn't shy, just always quiet sometimes and other times his loud, goofy and silly not to mention what really confuses me is that, there are times, he doesn't like when our names are being mentioned together in terms of relationships and sometimes he is like okay with it and just smiles and laughs. Help! Any advice?
