Basically, like traditional toys meant for boys or girls.
Do you think that children should be allowed to play with whichever toys they please? Is it only ok for certain ages to do this? Do you think it's only ok for girls to play "boy" toys and boys should not play "girls" toys? Is it ok for either as long as they're not colored for "boys" (like in blue) or girls (like pink/purple)? If you have kids, or are planning to, would you only force them to play their respective gender toys?

I had this guy come in the bar and I asked him how his Christmas went. Not well apparently.

His wife bought an E Z Bake oven for their nephew. The mother didn't care so much, but the dad freaked out. He said that it was "gay" and that he didn't want his son playing with "girl" toys. The aunt asked if it would be better if it were a different color (not pink) and he said no. It's a "gir's" toy.
The little boy is 5 and in kindergarten. He has a little girlfriend and they play house a lot. Sometimes he "cooks" for her, and sometimes she "cooks" for him. They have tea parties together, and they hold hands. Typical kindergarten bf/gf behavior.
The father likes that he has a girlfriend, but doesn't like him play cooking, play cleaning, and especially not the tea parties. The little boy thinks they're fun. He's not being "forced" by his girlfriend, as at home he will even play tea parties with his aunt (who bought the EZ Bake oven for him). He likes "boy" toys as well, like cars or robots or whatever, but he likes "girl" toys a bit more.

The dad took it away from him and gave it to his daughter. She doesn't seem to interested in it because she's like 12 already. He's still crying about it and I feel bad that some people are so insecure as to not let their kids have fun :/

So what do y'all think? Would you react the same way?

When I was younger, about ten or so, a shop assistant asked my stepmother if her son had any preferences after finding out I was looking to spend birthday money on a toy. I wasn't a boy. I still am not a boy.

I was walking through an almost empty classroom to get to the canteen when I was in yr eight. There were two year twelve boys sitting by the door. They asked me if I was a guy or girl (I was in the sports uniform) and when I said girl and left I heard one guy say 'poor thing sounded too used to answering that question.'

I was such a cute kid, and I guess I'm pretty good looking now beneath the pimples, but I do have an admittedly boyish face. It doesn't help that I keep my hair short and walk around in jeans and hoodies that do an unintended good job at hiding my breasts.
So I get misgendered a pretty decent amount.

I wanna know if anyone else runs into this same thing?
I won't call it a problem because I don't really care if someone mis genders me. I'm just curious how many other people it happens to.

Honestly, I'm torn. I have a very strong argument for both pro and con. I'm probably just not going to go, simply because I'm a major pessimist and although I have pretty good pro points on the matter, the cons are more my style.

-I LOVE to dress up and at least convince myself that I look good
-This is the "magical" night all young girls look forward to
-Basically every young girl's dream
-Memories can be made on prom night
Con-
-Costs money
-No one to go with/friends will all end up leaving me there to go get their own boy/girl toys for the night
-I'm not very attractive, so constant fear of judgment for showing that I actually care how people view me (by dressing up and possibly failing to look nice)
-Even if I go, the focus will be on my more attractive cousin, although we're exactly the same in nearly every aspect, she's more outgoing and good looking than I am.
-I've gotten over the dream of prom, now my dream is to finish every episode of my favorite show on Netflix, which I can work towards by skipping prom!
-Proms seems a bit over rated. "YAY I GET TO SPEND CASH TO GO INTO A CROWDED ROOM (with anxiety) OF A PLACE I HATE (school) IN A PROBABLY UNCOMFORTABLE OUTFIT WITH PEOPLE I DON'T EVEN LIKE/WHO TREAT ME LIKE SHIT, ALL SO I CAN DO SOME HORRENDOUS BODY FLAILING (my attempts at dancing) WOOOOO PROM!"

My cousin and her mom have both tried convincing me to go, but at no avail. I'll be here that night, with all of you, scrolling through the topics. How about you?

So I have a friend with extra benefits type relationship with a guy! He's super handsome & very sweet & it's not like a friends with benefits with NO strings attached type thing, it's more than that but we're not in a relationship bc we want to become best friends before trying a relationship! So long story short, at first we would text every single day, all day! & now just recently, he may text me my morning text & we may text like 5 texts after that in the morning & then he will read my text & never reply dude lol! & then I have to wait all the way til the next Morning before I get another text & the same thing happens! We send a few texts & then he reads it & never replies to it! & recently, he may skip a day without texting me at all & I will not contact him because I'm always the last one to text him anyway lol & so when I don't text him, the next day he will end up texting me! He did warn me when we first started this THINGship lol that some days we wouldn't talk bc he be real busy & stuff but my thing is, there were times when he was SUPER busy & he still managed to talk to me throughout the day but he's stopped now! So I'm thinking about beating him at his own little game! I call it a game bc I don't think anyone is soo busy that they can't send one "i miss u" or "I'm thinking of u" text? Lol like come on now! He also said he's not by his phone 24/7 which I understand cuz people have lives to live lol but I mean we may talk at 9 in the morning & then after that I don't hear ANYTHING else from him! So, I'm thinking of doing the same thing to him so that he can know how it feels ya know? So I plan to wait for my good morning text lol & then send him a text & then at some point after a couple of texts, I will do exactly what he does to me & just read it & not even reply lol & then maybe text him the next day! Or who knows I might even wait to see if he texts ME the next day lol! I think it will show him how I be feeling when he does that! What y'all think?
