If you think about it. That actually seems to be often the case when I meet around with people and discuss with them about criminals and poorly behaved teen boys and girls. I noticed that men tend to be far much more likely to hold their own gender much more responsible for illegal activities than girls while vice versa (women holding their own gender more responsible than boys).

For instance, I've recently had a discussion with a couple (nextdoor neighbors of mine) regarding a case of a male teacher being arrested for statutory r@pe with a 15 year old girl (who I and the couples personally know) at a high school near where they live. It seemed pretty obvious that the girl consented but the man still believed that the male teacher should be held completely responsible and deserves severe punishment for what he did (because he thinks the teacher manipuled the 15 year old girl) while his wife believes that the 15 year old girl isn't a child anymore and is old enough to know what she is getting herself into and should take some responsibility for her choice. Another interesting point that the wife brought up was that had the genders been reversed, her husband would be very quick to change his opinions.

Her husband then tried to come up with another argument to counter her point right there but then stayed quiet.
