my classmate/semi friend now asked me if I'm at school. I wasn't. But he says oh I'm in the quiet area and I got my own room that's why I asked you. I'm pretty slow so he mentioned something about going to study last week in person but he wasn't asking me to join so I didn't think it was an invitation. Did he want me to join the first time? Second time? Both times? And why not just ask directly?

Today I ran across an old high school classmate of mine. This mother fucker called me ugly and bullied me so much for being unattractive that I really hated looking in the mirror.
He would even get physical.
So I saw this guy today and he started talking to me. He was bragging about going to Tuskegee University while I go to Howard University ( both HBCUs). How he was majoring in fine arts or art something while I majored in biology. He started asking if I had a boyfriend and when I said no, he said, "Damn Fish Eyes, still a single monster?"
I told him that I had to go because I was meeting with a publisher today (she canceled because her daughter got sick) to which my classmate was like, "oh shit. How about we go get something to eat and talk? Are you writing a book?" I clarified that I wrote a book, and he said, "fuck. You going to be rich, girl. How about we go celebrate? I will by you some coffee."
I declined him. I said, "you made my life a living hell in high school and you think I give a fuck about you now? Naw, my dude."
He got mad and called me an ugly bitch before walking away but I'm proud of myself.

I remember this one time, when I was around 10 and still with a "thick" accent, I was asked if I would ever straighten my hair (at the time, I had really big and curly hair) by one of my classmates.
I was the only "black" kid in my school at the time so I was either gawked at, make fun of, isolated, or touched and I didn't like it but whatever.
I was asked that question a lot by the white, black, and middle eastern people of my family; so I was used to people touching my hair after asking me or plainly just asking me.
The only reason I am telling you this is because I was on the bus a hours ago and a woman (I don't have long hair anymore, but I am growing out again) asked me that question.
I looked at her and asked why, she said, "it would so pretty if it was straighten. You'll have length to your hair." Unlike the kids at school who were just being kids and asking, basically, "why does this chick look different from us," I was genuinely insulted by this woman. So, I said, "my hair looks fine, thank you. My hair is naturally kinky-coily and it looks is just fine." Her... friend (?) chimed in and said, "we aren't trying to say anything, but you'd look much better with shoulder length hair," to which, I replied, "and you'd look much better not talking to me, its 7 in the morning and nobody wants to be on this bus. Let's not make it harder."
The lady mumble something to her friend and left me alone. I feel bad now, they were only trying to help.
Was wrong for snapping at her?
