Okay so I like this guy. He's my friend but I've always wanted it to be more than that. I've known him since we were little. Our friends always joke that we would make a good couple but I don't think he ever took it seriously or anything like that. I constantly would give him obvious hints that I liked him but he never took interest. The day I decided enough was enough and he didn't like me, he did something that I don't think he's ever done before. He complimented me. This is a guy who I, in the years I've known him, has never said anything nice about anyone before. Ever. My hair is naturally curly. I have let my hair be curly a lot, but sometimes I straighten it. I didn't do anything different with my hair that morning. But for some reason he must have taken notice. I was having lunch next to my friend and he asked me how I was doing. It may not seem like much, but this is coming from a person who doesn't seem to care much about other people's feelings. I said that I was actually feeling pretty great and he smiled and sarcastically said how I was going to screw up the math test. I was just about to tell him off. But I stopped myself, I don't know why. He looked at me again as I sat down and said that my hair looked nice. I totally froze. This was a guy who I saw everyday and talked to daily. He has never once opened his mouth and said anything nice in the very long time I have known him. I just stared at him. He saw my confusion, and he said again that it looked different and that he liked it. I muttered a thank you and just looked at the table. I went to my personal finance class and couldn't stop think about it, and when class ended, I heard someone say my name. My full name. It was him again. All of my close friends call me by my nickname, which also happens to be a boys name. It threw me off, but he told me a story about what happened in his Spanish class. I can't stop think about it. Does he like me?

•After I was finished running in the gym he came running my way, he looked at me and smiled

He apologized and said it wasn't his choice
