This disappearing act is killing me. Great night together, deep conversations about how he's thinking about me being there, sweet banter and amazing conversations and finally have sex for the first time then bam... pulls the dreaded disappearing act. Usually after a couple weeks he starts talking again. He acts like nothing happened but we get closer. He opens up a little more, communicates more. He’s not introduced me to family, introducing me to his friends isn’t a reliable marker because I’ve met them already. Usually he’s very affectionate publicly, casual contact, watches me, eye contact very intense because dang he sees everything and the most honest man I’ve known. We talk about everything from nothing really to world issues to deep personal information. But when he does pull away he barely looks me in the eye and man that distance sucks. It's now going on a month. Unfortunately I don’t always handle that we’ll which I believe causes him to be absent longer. Thing is neither of us are in a place to be in a relationship. He’s not sure he ever will and I’m in a major life change. Which doesn’t even matter to me because I enjoy him on all levels right this moment, enjoying being in love. I’m focused on today. While yeah a relationship in the future would be nice (who falls in love thinking oh I hope he doesn’t fall in love with me) I absolutely am good with our progression. How do I tell him that and show him I’m not worried about a relationship in the romantic sense today, that I just want his friendship, to speak his mind and understand that the ignoring thing is a serious issue for me? That it wouldn’t matter if it was him or my sister, it messes with me? That I’m really not needy or clingy that just telling me don’t wanna talk really is all it takes? That I would like for him to remember that I’m more than understanding when informed? How do I communicate this to him in a way that he doesn’t feel defensive? At times I blurt the wrong thing out

As teens we'd both been through rough stuff & by no means were up to dating. I was looking for a Mr (or Ms) RightNow as was he, I didn't care we were bff's.
For 7 years we've been friends, quietly close. We would talk all night, text constantly & all day, argue like lovers. I had no idea that it even seemed like a relationship - in my head we were friends because I felt as though if he was a man he would have sought me out more diligently.
He & I dated others, talked more than with anyone else but we sort of hid the others existence, something I realize seemed more like an affair than anything-perhaps emotional I suppose.
He would offer to get me clothes, get my hair done, buy me movie tickets - all things I vehemently rejected because I am all about covering myself w/friends. He even bitched at me for rejecting a game Monday!
Later as adults he said that I should have come on to him & demanded him, I realized that being more experienced I could have but I have a firm belief men should be the initiators.
Both dated others srsly, I thought moved on & kept contact after he moved - he even said..."You are the closest thing to a true significant other I've ever had."
Whoa right?
He told me all the things he wants me to piece together, something I loathe that he openly said he thinks I should just figure out due to his puzzling insecure b. s.
Ex: He told me how he was going to see a therapist to learn to understand himself better (I had suggested such for years), also his wage-very impressive, his insurance, all things I had always mentioned I NEED in a hubby (I know he told me these things to subtly say IM MARRIAGE MATERIAL).
I've been blind but he's been so mean sometimes, friends forgive so easily though.
He's moving back, calling more, texting more, says he wants to take me away etc. Everything I refused to accept but I still talk to him.
Friendship means everything.
We've also talked about breeding... I don't know what to think, or how he truly feels.

Please don't bash astrology if you plan on answering this--though I also believe that astrology does not dictate everything.

All other aspects put aside, based soley on a Cancer Man's sun sign alone, how can you tell the difference between him viewing you as a FRIEND vs a potential GIRLFRIEND?

What will he do differently? Is he more physical (hugging, tickling, and just touching you in general) when he sees you as a potential girlfriend vs a friend? Is he more open when he sees you as a friend vs a potential girlfriend?

I would like to add that I am an Aquarius Woman with a close knit friendship with a Cancer Man whom I am slightly curious about.

We really love each other's company, despite that I am often moody/broody due to my own reasons. Oddly enough, he understands them and wants nothing more than to see me happy and to see me laugh off the pains of life. These things, he has told me.

He confuses me, but that's because he supposedly sees in me what I fail to personally. I tend to believe I am worth no one's time--yet he tells me that I should never feel that way. In fact, he gets worked up and irritated when I tell him about my family's views on me. He tells me that they're wrong and that I am perfect the way I am. If I say "I'm ok" he can go on in a rant about how I'm more than ok and that I need to see it.

Ever since I've gotten to know him, he's helped me not only feel my emotions, but actually experience them--if that makes much sense. I can open up fully to him, and I know he'd never turn it against me.

He is also big on physical contact. Whether it's a full-bodied hug before I leave, or me sitting in his lap watching tv or friends play video games, he likes to be close to me and likes touching me--even if it's tickling or touching my arms/legs for no apparent reason.
