Long story short - he (lets say tom) and I admitted our feelings for each other but never dated as he was in a relationship. he came out of it 2-3 months ago. he showed interest in me and tried to find out if he still had a chance with me. I kept my distance because i didn't know he is single.

now, he tries to find out if i've started seeing a guy and feels insecure if i talk to our common male work friends. he was subtly flirting with me for 2 days and then on day 3, when i went to talk to him a few times, he talked nicely at first but then suddenly started avoiding me. It felt disrespectful so from next day, i started ignoring him completely. I talk to our common work friends but dont even look at him at group lunches with work friends. also there's a new male colleague so i talk to him in front of Tom.
now Tom tries to talk to me, was literally chasing me around lunch table to sit with me and treats me nicely (serving me tea at lunch table). why is he doing this?

For over a month, I was speaking to someone on a dating app. He initiated wanting to meet up in person but I avoided it/ showed signs of not being interested. He messaged me last week, on the actual dating app, wishing me a happy new year and hoping that he can speak with me/ apologize for offending me. We have not spoken in about a month ( I removed him from social media). He has never offended me but something about him makes me not want to meet up with him. I find him attractive for the exception of how he dresses. Usually ugly guys pursue me so the fact that he’s decent looking and still attempts to contact me, even though I’ve been kinda rude, has me off put. He hasn’t necessarily been creepy or show red flags, it’s just the fact that he is still interested in meeting me even though I have not been very nice with him. Should I give him a chance?
