I love being around other people and enjoy companionship. I enjoy the feeling of being connected with others. I like being social. I'm very outgoing. I actually prefer being around two or more people than just one-on-one. When I'm first getting to know a person of course one-on-one is better for forming a good friendship with them but I tend to eventually get bored with a person when it's just one-on-one and need to withdrawal from them for a bit to recharge my batteries. But when I'm in a small group of people I don't get that tired, drained out feeling that I get from one-on-one contact. I feel lively and don't get the need to withdrawal or recharge. Instead I get sad when I have to leave the group of people and for a while I feel like I don't know what to do with myself.

I'm an only child, though, so I'm used to entertaining myself. I'm fine with going outside by myself and bike riding or whatever and I read plenty of books and I find plenty of things to do online. But I definitely prefer being with other people and would prefer to go shopping with and outside with and be in the house with friends instead of doing things alone.

I'm not expressive at all like extroverts, though. It's hard for me to express myself even with the very few people I feel comfortable enough with to do so, and I always feel like I'm drowning in my thoughts. Like I have a LOT in my head and not enough of it is coming out.

Which one do I sound more like? Extrovert or introvert?

I am a very shy person since I was little. As a grown woman, I still have some shyness left in me that I cannot seem to shake off completely. I am very pleasant, upbeat and friendly on the phone, but when I am on a date I tense up and cannot relax. I have some guys that do notice my shyness right away while the guys who like me do not mind it. They would say or do anything to make me feel at ease. The question is, how do I deal with social anxiety when dating? Is it a deal breaker for some guys? Especially if the guy is very sociable and outgoing!
