Search Results: shy or uninterested

Please help me out with this. My brain is going to explode because i can't stop thinking about this. I don't know if she actually likes any of us, but i notice that this girl (that i really like) acts really different when she's with her friend (which is a guy) and when she's with me, so it's really confusing for me to figure out if she prefers me or that guy.

When she's with me: she gets shy and doesn't talk much; she almost never makes eye contact with me and when she does she brakes it immediately; when i try to make conversations with her she answers me with really short answers and acts uninterested, cold and distant but sometimes she strikes up conversations with me and acts nicer and sweeter; she doesn't react when i try to flirt with her; she doesn't laugh much when i tell jokes; she avoids me and ignores me sometimes; i catch her staring at me (with a blank face, no smile) quite a few times and she looks away when i look at her (she has no idea i like her, i swear); she called me cute once; she remembers a lot of the things i tell her even if i said it a long time ago; she's always saying that i'm really smart (she's actually smarter than me); we don't talk or hang out outside school

But with her friend: she laughs at all of his jokes (and they're pretty lame, honestly); she talks to him everyday; she hangs out with him A LOT; they text each other often; she mentions him in many conversations; he invited her to prom (we're in high school) and she accepted; she's always nice to him and flirts with him a lot; they always 'like' each other stuff on facebook,...

I just wanna know if i have any chances with her. I really like her and i feel like she likes me too (i got that gut feeling) but she's so nice to that other guy that it makes me feel like maybe she's not interested in me at all. Plus, i'm shy and have low confidence issues so it makes it even worse.

Started talking to her a week and a half ago. To sum it up:

-Talked to girl off dating site and IMMEDIATELY hit it off
-We have a lot of the same passions, and moral values
-She has openly expressed interest in me
-We have already talked about future plans (like going to see a concert, going to a gaming convention, etc)
-We have not met (yet)
-We used to text all day every day
-we both closed our dating profiles for eachother

My problem:
Lately our conversations have died down a bit. I do openly and strongly flirt with her and she responds back neutral (when i asked her about it she said she's shy). She doesn't make that strong of an effort to reply to me, sometimes i have to double or even triple text. Sometimes i have to carry the conversation too, and have to be the one to initiate

When we game together, she's not too flirty and if anything is busy with her friends

All of these are classic signs of "she's not into you" BUT when i asked her about this, cause i like to be upfront with my feelings, she assured me she likes me and "you're not gonna lose me"

TLDR:
-I have to do everything/initiate everything
-Seems uninterested but openly said she IS interested

Am I rushing things/expecting too much? is this normal behavior?
