We've been friends and have known each other for years. A few days later, he called, but I missed the call. I texted and told him he made me feel uncomfortable and I couldn't talk right now because I didn't know what to say. He apologized for everything. He said he was drunk and took the fantasy too far and crossed a line.

Was it really just a drunken mistake?

Here's the short version: My friend who I've known for several years asked me if I would consider dating him and being his girlfriend via text. He was drunk and also already has a girlfriend. We've been in constant contact for almost a year and we've admitted to wanting to have sex with each other in the past, but decided to just be friends, obviously because he has a girlfriend. We flirt a lot and text/talk on the phone very often. I haven't talked to him since this happened two days ago. What should I do now? For the record, yes, I would consider dating him if he were single.
