I have a female friend that started showing some strong but mixed signs of romantic interest in me. We have a lot of mutual friends so we saw each other often. After about a month of back and forth of mixed signals I finally say her down and told her that I was interested in her and that I suspected she was interested in me and that I wanted to know for sure so that we could go on being friends of perhaps something more.

At first she denied having any interest in me, but I knew she had been hurt by guys in the past so I let her know I valued our friendship and that I just wanted to get to know her more, no expectations. After that she opened up and told me all sorts of things about her past and said she needs to trust me, but wants to give me a chance for her to trust me and to get to know me better too. I told her we would just have fun and get to know each other and in three months have this conversation again.

I started keeping a journal about our interactions together primarily because this is the first romantic relationship I've had and I wanted to make sure I learned from the mistakes I made along the way, but for sentimental value too I guess. Things are going well for the most part, but the 3 month mark is only two weeks away now and I can feel she is still a bit afraid to take the leap. When we are around friends she is very comfortable with PDAs like hand-holding, long hugs, light kisses, but when we are alone she is a lot more cautious to do even those same things.

I was thinking about giving her the journal, or at the very least letting her read it. It is solely about her, not my life in general. Do you think that would be something she would enjoy and that it would help convince her that I really do care about her and I'm not like the other guys that have hurt her. Or would it just be creepy? Is it weird for a guy to keep a journal?

So I've gone on a few dates with this girl now. Things went well for the most part. Good conversations, we connected; a few semi awkward silences but nothing bad.

After our last date a couple days later I texted her propositioning her for another date. She said she would love to but the day I asked about she had to work 12 hours and wouldn't want to do anything but go to bed. Valid reason, but she never offered up another day that might work better for her so I just said "maybe some other time." I gave it a few days and I believe asked again (honestly can't remember if I asked twice or 3 times since it was weeks ago). I'm sure she was somehow busy again but I don't recall the reason or anything. Days later I tell her that the offer is still on the table. She tells me things have been hectic since she's moving/working/etc. and she will have to check her schedule. Ok, so it's in her hands now and by now I think, "I can take a hint," so I just stop trying to contact her.

Fast forward to now (2/3 weeks later) and she texts me telling me she's sorry she hasn't been in contact (had family issues) and she didn’t want me to think she was ignoring me. Hey, good sign I suppose. So I offer up 2 different days to go get ice cream and take her mind off of things. Well she doesn’t text me back until the next night (says she didn’t see my text until now) and says she has (family thing) and (family thing) but appreciates the offer. No alternative day suggested or any hint that she actually wants to see me again.

I originally thought she was trying to let me down easy which is why I stopped contacting her. Then she texts me again, but still doesn't seem incredibly interested in meeting up. I know she's a busy girl but if you want to see someone again you'd think you'd at least offer up another day that works for you?

So that's where I'm at. Mixed signals. Does she want to see me again? If not, what's the motive behind contacting me again?

So there's this chick, and we're both seniors in high school graduating right about now. I've known her for like a year, but we're more acquaintances than friends really. But until like the past month, she showed signs of interest and I eventually asked her to the school prom, because why the hell not. We also had this party and when I tried dancing with this other chick she'd come interrupt and make me dance with her. So anyway with the prom, we held hands, danced, she slept on my lap the ride home, and I got a kiss on the cheek.

So now I'm interested in starting a relationship, but now she doesn't talk as frequently as before and has me shot down every time I wanted to hang (once at night and during the day. she had her reasons though).

I don't know what to do. What should I do anyway? These mixed signals...
