Tonight, my friend tried to cancel some plans we made to hang out. I got her a Christmas present, and I wrote her a letter telling her I think she's an awesome person and that all her family and friends love her. I also bought a private ballroom dance lesson for her as she expressed an interest in learning it, but never took the initiative.

I said "no, I'm leaving for a week, and I really want to give you your Christmas gift, so meet me for 1 drink and I'll give you your present." She said she has to meet some people from work. I said I'd just wait for her at the bar. She said okay. I go to the bar, and her and some friends are already there. I walk up to say hi, but she ignors me (first time that ever happened), even her friends said hi. I was pretty sad, went to the corner to drink and waited politely for her to come talk to me. 20ish minutes later she finally said hi, we had a short conversation. She said she would text me when she was done. She left, I continued to drink, then I went to wait in my car to sober up. She came back and got in her other friends car. I tried to call and text her but she didn't respond. After a short while I was sober (enough), and felt like she was ignoring me for a reason, I walked up to the car and knocked on the window. She rolled it down not saying anything. I gave her the present, as she took it, I noticed she was crying. I asked her if she was okay, her friend answered "yeah, were fine."

So I went home and texted her this: "Are you okay? You looked really upset. I got home. Thanks for hanging out with me the brief time that you were able to. I know you're super busy and you've been going through a lot, so I'll give you your space. I do love you, and you're an awesome person but at this point i feel like I'm just pestering you and you don't have the heart to tell me off. So I'll just leave you alone, and if you ever do want to hang out you know my number. Thanks for being such a great friend :/"
