I am the one who initiated the friends with benefits relationship but somehow found myself falling in love after 8 months so I cut off the benefits, attempting to remain friends. We got along so well but neither of us wanted a relationship, although I suspect he may have feelings for me too.

One day, we were hanging out at my place after a long time apart. I had told him before he came that there would be no sex. We did kiss, but he took it too far and forcefully put himself on top of me, groping me and removing my clothes 3 separate times despite me telling him to stop and pushing him away. I told him to leave but he didn't until a few hours later.

We talked over messenger where i told him what he did was wrong and that I felt terrified and humiliated. He seemed genuinely apologetic but I told him we wouldn't be seeing each other again.

It's been 3 weeks and I am a complete wreck. I am so conflicted, wanting to contact him and talk it out face to face, while at the same time never wanting to see him again. He messaged once to ask if was okay, which baffled me. I don't know if this has affected him as badly as it has me. I'm not okay. I can't focus at work, I can't eat, and I wake up in cold sweats over it most nights and despite it all I still have feelings for him. I didn't answer because how do you answer that question when you're falling apart?

Should I contact him? I'm especially curious what men think about this, as all the women I've talked to say to "just block that asshole", but that feels so cold to me

A study regarding cheating partners revealed that men were more likely to forgive their partners if they fell in love with another, but will find it hard to forgive them for having sex with someone else.

Whereas women were more likely to forgive their partners if they had sex with someone else, but less likely to forgive them for falling in love.

I realise that this is a huge generalisation over one study.

But popular belief (again huge generalisation) is that men can detach sex from emotions, so why are they less likely to forgive sex, if some men see sex as just that, sex?

And women, IN GENERAL, are seen to be more affectionate and emotional, so the study results are consensus to the female stereotype, as they are less likely to forgive their partner for falling in love with another person.

What are your thoughts?

My boyfriend and I, who are both 17 and have been together for 6 months love each other. However, there was a recent death in the family and after that we just started falling off and arguing a lot. We were doing distance but got to see each other on holidays. I’d visit because my family lives in the same city as him.

We decided it couldn’t work between us at that point. He said he felt lost and he didn’t know what to do with himself. He started showing less interest in our relationship. We talked about it and he opened up to me. He told me he doesn’t know what to do and that he wants to be with me and he loves me but can’t manage anything in his life. I tried to be there for him, but it wasn’t working. We both got our closure and told each other we love each other and that we hope one day we can reconnect in the future.

I’m really heartbroken. I miss him very much and just wanna text him again, but I know I shouldn’t. Anyone have been through the same experience? Any advice? I feel lost. He was my bestfriend as well as my boyfriend. We had a connection and we were like the same person in different bodies as cheesy as that sounds. It feels really hard to live without him even though we didn’t see each other everyday. I’ve been feeling really down, and I can’t bring myself to focus or do anything. I’ve become tired all the time and lazy.
