Search Results: act like jerks

constantly my friends are sending me links to stuff I don't care about or want to see. tweets from twitter, youtube videos, links to video games. or recommend stuff to watch and 7 out of 10 times I don't like or want to see what they recommend.
every time I see the link I feel bothered because I feel like its a chore. I tell them I don't care and they act like I'm a jerk and its not a big deal to click a link. i know its really not a big deal but if i respond to it they just keep sending me stuff. if i don't agree with them and say how cool it is they get annoyed and start a argument. if i just ignore it they keep asking if i checked it out and keep badgering me to watch it. case in point why it feels like such a chore.
i just feel like these days people go way overboard broadcasting every thing and thinking that every little aspect of their life or everything they have to say is so interesting. does anyone feel this way

As a West Coast American from Arizona, I've never encounter such group of people in my life who are more rude, snottier, more condescending group of douchebags in my life than East Coast Americans (Especially New Yorkers and People from Massachusetts and New Jersey). The majority of them in my experience act like they're more superior than the rest of the other Americans who aren't from the Northeast area of the US and they also seem to make up the majority of the douchebag jocks at my high school. Every time I run into one here in my home state (AZ) who looks like a typical East Coast jerk, I'll tell them directly to their face that their unpleasant kind are not welcome here in my state.

I'm having a personal dilemma. I'm a somewhat shy and quiet guy, by which I mean that I only really talk when I have something to say, and just coming up to someone I barely know and striking up a conversation is difficult for me. But once I get to know someone or there's just an established topic of conversation, I can talk to them no problem. I'm also very kind to people by default and have trouble being a jerk (even in a joking way) towards someone I'm interested in.

Now I'm comfortable with who I am, I like myself well enough, but I know that I'm not attractive enough to get girls being this way. So the question is, should I try to be more like the guys that get girls, or just be myself and hope for my "soulmate" to come along and accept me for who I am. I feel like I should be more like the stereotypical guy, don't act like I actually care about girls' feelings most of the time, be a bit of a jerk, and try to have a louder personality. Even though I wouldn't really be me anymore, I would have a much better chance of getting a girl. Or do I just need to make certain changes, and if so what changes?
