I scheduled to meet with Jeff on a Friday. I had made these plans over a month ago. Jeff had my cell phone number. Jeff had to drive almost 40 miles to meet me.

When I arrived, Jeff has not there. So, I waited 30 minutes before calling him. I called Jeff's office. His office told me that he was on his way to meet me, but he couldn't find the building, and that "he forgot his cell phone in his car." I told his office exactly where I was, and that I was waiting for him. When I called his office a second time, they told me he was still trying to find the building and couldn't find me - perhaps communicating telepathically, since his cell phone was supposedly forgotten in his car.

One week afterward, Jeff wrote me a letter telling me he was very upset I didn't show up to our meeting on Friday, because he traveled 40 miles to be there. Jeff also claimed that he went to "all" the rooms in the building I was at and he couldn't find me.

I'm just curious about your gut-level impressions or feelings. Do you think that this could be entirely possible, or does something smell wrong or fishy here? If so, please let me know why you think something is off about Jeff's story.
