Search Results: is he being truthful

So basically this girl with whom I'm good friends sent me an email about a month ago saying she 'wanted to make sure I didn't like her like that, she begged me not to like that, she said that she just didn't want a boyfriend, she felt too selfish for one'. But after that I was honest with her, and I told her how I felt, perhaps that was a mistake. But in reponse to that she said "thank you so much for being honest with me, it makes communicating so easy when people are honest with each other." She said a fair bit more, but that's all she said in relation to me liking her.

Anyway, she has never had a boyfriend before, and I think she is partly afraid of having one. Anyway, we're very good friends. (note I didn't ask her to be my girlfriend or anything, she brought it up on her own accord)

But since then (ie since I told her how I felt) we've done lots of one on one stuff together, and lots of group stuff together. We've had dinner 3 times one on one in the past 2 weeks, and done other stuff... (in fact we had done nothing one-on-one before) And the times we have done stuff together, we usually spend 6+ hours together.

But we're good friends... so its hard to know, whether she just likes spending time with me as a friend, or whether she is starting to like me more than a friend...

I mean, maybe she just doesn't want to lose our friendship and that's why she wants to spend one on one time with me? But she doesn't act awkwardly or embarrassed though around me... and if this was the case wouldn't she suggest we do stuff as a group rather than stuff one on one?

In fact out of all the times I've asked her if she was up for doing something, she has only once turned me down (yesterday)- I called her a few times, she didn't answer, and later she sent me a message saying she was in a hectic rush and that she had a lot of unpacking to do (which is probably true she's just moved houses), but that we could totally do something later in the week and she'd let me know, (whether she was referring to 'we' as a group or just her and me I dn)... Deep down I feel that she might've been just looking for an excuse (even if its a truthful excuse), so now I kind of have this big hesitant feeling inside me which is telling me to back off ... but there's another feeling inside me which is saying, why would've she waited until now to do this? And 'if I don't keep trying, I'm never going to get to go out with her"

Anyway, given this situation, if you think I should, how often should I call/try to meet up with this girl? And have any of you been in similar situations, and could give me advice? Should I just give up, or hang in there?
