I was on and off and never official with this guy for a long time who really cared about me, but had been in the same relationship for almost a decade, his only one ever, and I knew he wasn't over it. after I moved away for a while and came back we started seeing eachother again but he thought I was pushing him too hard. it was like he couldn't communicate to me what he wanted. he is a good person, I know he wasn't out to just use me. at least I hope not, I like to think I know him better than that. but it's like he thinks relationships hold him back from life in general, at least it appears that's how his last one made him feel. but I need a relationship to make me feel secure. so, that's where the problems ensue. I have never felt more in love or attracted to anyone else in my life. we did have sex, but he didn't stress it. I am seeing some one right now, it's been months since I have talked to the guy I am referring to as I told him it wasn't going to work, and blocked him on my phone (he has been known to drunk dial me). anyway, the other night in a moment of weakness, as I have been through some rough situations lately, I called him. I hung up almost right away but he called back a bunch of times, left a voicemail, left a text. I was suprised that he was so... excited to hear from me after how harshly things ended. and the sad thing is, this isn't the first time things have ended badly for us, it's happened a few times but we always seem to find our way back to eachother. I blocked him again and told him I missed him but just couldn't talk right now and hoped he was well. is it possible he could be ready to give me what I need? or at least meet me half way? he thought I was too codependent, and I don't know how to show him that I'm not but his hesitation around relationships makes me uneasy. why would a guy be so excited to go back to something that caused so much drama? why would he act so eager like that?

I've been my boyfriend for several months now. I absolutely love and adore him, except for when he drinks. When he's not drinking, he is honestly one of the sweetest and most caring guys I have ever been with. However, when he drinks he can become very... not likable. 1st let me say, he doesn't drink very often. He used to but toned it down when we started dating because I barely drink. But when he does drink, he sometime, not all the time, but sometimes has a problem knowing when to stop. He's a different person when he becomes drunk. For example: New Years eve. We were both slightly intoxicated. Him more than me. We went to the bar. I ran to catch up with my girlfriend who was ahead of us walking alone. He got angry for leaving him behind. I flipped him the finger and smiled at him. I know I should have but in my head it seemed funny to do that. Anyways, he was NOT ok with that. He got angry and told me I am the worst girlfriend ever (which he has said several times while drunk). He then continued to be mean the whole night. He followed me around the bar the whole night and kept trying to pick a fight (btw he was still continuing to drink during all of this). My friends were getting pissed. They didn't like his behavior and at one point he threw an empty plastic cup at my best friends head because they were telling him to stop. I tried leaving the bar to smoke outside and he kept blocking me from leaving. Needless to say, I had to get away from him. We didn't even share a kiss at midnight. whenever he drinks, he becomes rude and we always fight. He will punch the wall out of anger. He's even threatened to kill himself with really bothers me because my last boyfriend died from suicide, which he knows about. I just hate the person he is drunk and he always says sorry or sometimes he thinks I'm overreacting. He says he will try and stop drinking but never does. I'm lost. I don't know what to do. I really love him though.

I'm curious because in a psych class we were doing a role play and I ended up talking about my friendship with my boyfriend's best friend and the weird dream I had about him, and the girl I was working with said it sounded like he likes me but I don't think so.

I first met him at my boyfriend's NYE get together and was initially attracted to him because he was the second most attractive guy there and the most attractive (my now boyfriend) and I worked together so I thought that would be a no-go. My boyfriend and I started dating that night and I originally was very reserved around his friend. He ended up moving for military reasons so I basically forgot about the whole thing.

Over the course of a year we went out to visit him twice. He and I started to become friends and when my boyfriend proposed on our second trip, he made a comment about how I was the best thing to happen to my boyfriend and how he better take care of me. A few months later he came home on leave before he moved again for military reasons. The first Friday night, I got really drunk off of his margaritas and we went up to talk about his girl problem and make more while the rest of the bros were down stairs. I DREAMT that we planned an affair but we really didn't. I told my boyfriend about it and he wasn't concerned and when I told his friend he seemed worried.

The next week we went over again for drinks and I was keeping up with his friend drink for drink, and he said that's why he liked me. Anyways we ended up going outside to smoke and started talking about relationship issues. I was worried my boyfriend didn't like me because we stopped having sex and he said any time I have that problem to tell him and he'll fix things. He did and still checks in with my boyfriend. He did say though that we can't be friend-friends until we are official married due to his problems with my man's past girlfriends. He also picks me up every time he sees or says good bye.
