This guy liked me for several years. We'd always had a flirtatious relationship, but it was never very clear who liked who. We dated briefly when we were in high school (2 weeks) and then I broke up with him because I was afraid it would hurt the friendship. We still remained really good friends after that, best friends even. I had no idea he liked me though.

Anywho, some time later I figured it out... and I started to like him back. Over the summer we briefly got together for a couple weeks. Seriously the happiest time of my life so far. Eventually I went back to school (college) and he went back to his. 4 weeks later we were chatting online when he told me that everything that had happened between us was just subconscious revenge and that he just wanted me all along.

That really put an awkward dent in our relationship for a year. I finally wrote him to see what was going on because I was really confused... He admitted that he had liked me for a very long time, but that the feelings had faded... and that he had wanted a girlfriend and I was just suddenly available so he thought he'd go for it. He said he was just using me because he was lonely. Thing is, when we were together, we never even kissed... so... I don't know how that means he was using me. We were best friends, so our conversations didn't really change much from what they had been.

So now I am at a loss... After he admitted to "using" me or w/e he did, I told him we had to go our separate ways. He tried really hard to make things work but kind of eventually gave up. He said it was all a mistake and that he had to have liked me a little, but that he definitely didn't anymore. Seems like every time we are talking face to face he has a different story, but when we're away he's kind of harsh... saying he's busy all the time etc.

So to skip to the present, he and I are kind of not really friends anymore... We say we're friends... but we never talk or keep in touch or anything. I'm not really sure where to go now with this whole thing. I know that we were great friends and I do miss him a lot. I feel like my life was so much happier with him around. My other friends just aren't like me. How do I apologize for being so awful to him? I know he's apologized multiple times and I've rejected him... Can this be fixed?

This man and his girlfriend had a child when the mother was 20, he was 28. They split up right away, and she got custody while he had some visitation. This man also has a past filled with criminal acts: some minor, others severe. He's a smoker, and an overall bad influence on the girl. He also has a past of taking advantage of younger girls (11-17) and having sex with or touching them. The mother is unaware of this, so parenting time continues for the father.

When the daughter is 7 years old, the father has sex with 2 teenage girls while they are under the influence of alcohol. The next summer, when the daughter is 8, the father is convicted and sentenced to 5-15 years in prison. For the next 5 years the daughter is left with her mother, brother and step-father to live a peaceful life away from her father.

Over these 5 years, the girl realizes how much better off she is without having to worry about her dad. Then when she was 11, she finds out what her father did over the phone from her father (completely inappropriate). She starts seeing what kind of person he is, and she is terrified of him.

After 5 years in prison and 2 years of parole with no contact with her, he thinks everything should go back to normal and he believes his crime does not affect his daughter whatsoever. He also thinks that just because someone committed a crime, it doesn't mean you shut them out "Would you hate someone for getting a speeding ticket?" Now he is forcing supervised visitation on her. She has protested and her mother is on her side. He has no idea why his daughter feels this way even though she has told him countless times.
