Search Results: ex wants to catch up

A few months ago my boyfriend’s Mom was behind on her rent because she was helping out another family member who was in need of care.

This is was going on for months without me knowing until my boyfriend showed me her eviction notice.

I’ve known his Mom longer than I’ve known him so I went to her place one night when he was out of town for work and we talked it out. She wouldn’t take my money at first so I told her she had a room at my place for a few months until she could get on her feet.

She texts me the day of eviction how much she needs and I transfer it to her. She pays me back a few days later as agreed.

Now, here we are again, because once you fall behind it’s hard to catch up. But this time she needs three times as much money and just lost her job, so there is no likely way she can pay me back but she says she’ll have it the next day.

Her son and I broke up but I still told her she always has a place to sleep here. She was mad that I wouldn’t give her the money because she knows I have a savings what not but it is just too much to lose when I can offer her a place to sleep comfortably for months for free.

I called her son and left a message about his Mom’s situation because she hasn’t told him. I texted him this morning just to let him know. Your Mom is being evicted, lost her job and I can cover some of the money but not all of it so I want to let you know.

We broke up because he got a good job in another city. I text him again about his mom and call, I’m blocked. Wtf

she’s in this mess from helping him, her ex and other kids. Maybe not the whole story.

Was I wrong to try and help? Known them 2 years.
