I will try to keep this brief:

I've been in a relationship for 7 months now (in my low 20's) and the love I use to know when I was younger (before this relationship) seems unreachable to me now.
My previous girlfriend lasted over a year long, and ended 2 years ago. The time between then and my current relationship starting, I had one time dates (tinder) that never lead to anything at all.
And I had also gotten into the hook-up culture, which never appealed to me as a nice thing, just a means to an end.
When I met my current girlfriend (via tinder) I was happy that I was talking/texting someone that actually seemed interested in me.
When I finally met with her after talking for nearly a month, I was nervous, but tried to play it cool, and we just talked to each other for a few hours.
We decided that we liked each other enough to go for a second date (which was the day that we became a couple).
From that 2nd date I had a feeling that this was going to last. But as time went on (a couple months) I stopped feeling excited to see her to just happy. I never felt the love I had when I was younger with her in the first place, but I saw potential in the relationship. As time went on we became more intimate, i. e; kissing, groping, cuddling, and eventually sex. But every time I go to see her I only feel happy, and nothing like what I knew in the past. Like there is something missing..

Long story short:
I feel like an end in my current relationship won't hurt too bad, because I know that I could come to love other people BUT I also feel like I love my girlfriend HOWEVER I don't feel the love I had when I was younger (which is when I came to define the feeling of love).

And I was wondering if anyone has felt anything like this. I appreciate any and all commented opinions/stories/explanations.

So, once upon a 7 months ago, I asked a really good friend out, and at first she said yes, and it seemed genuine. A few hours later, though, she changed it to not right now, explaing she didn't want to date for a few years, which has held true thus far. Her family makes me feel like there's a bit I don't know, especially her dad, who seems especially nice and outgoing to me ever since.

Jump to today, an even better friend asked me to prom (I presume as friends) and I said yes. The thing is, the first girl never set anything official. I still sort of like her, but I can't make heads or tails of whether she likes me. She seems overall more nervous around me now, good or bad. But either way, like I said, she never suggested a time to come back, but seemed to want me to keep my feelings around.

Am I doing her wrong by going to prom with this other girl, even though her and I are just friends?
