I know this isn't really the place for a question like this but you all have such great opinions I would like to get your advice/ opinion on this matter.

I take care of an 8 year old boy who had Muscular Dystrophy. I only care for him while he is at school. I feel like he is being neglected. His parents don't take him to the doctor EVER, he takes NO medication. I know he is suffering and in extreme amount of pain. I also know that there is no cure for DMD but I do know that medication can make his quality of life better and longer. Right now he is far into the disease the school therapist says she doesn't see it progress this fast and that if he took medication it slows it down. She said that the people she sees at the stage he is at are usually in their late teens and early twenties. The parents have free health care. I don't know why they don't want to make his quality of life better. His wheelchair he has been in the same one sense he was 3 years old. It is way to small for him. I love this kid and I want to help him. I would buy him a new wheelchair if I knew I wouldn't be crossing the line and I don't know if that is. He desperately needs a new chair. there is no head rest his legs rub on the wheels and there are just a lot of issues when a chair is to small for a child. His parents could get him one for FREE a nice one that is electric. But they don't and I don't know if it is because they don't care or don't want to put in the effort. I know he is not taken care of in the right way but according to state laws he is not being neglected. He doesn't get love or attention except when he is at school, he is like a celebrity. Everyone loves him at school. So I am just wondering from this little bit of info I have provided what your thoughts are. Would I be crossing the line if I bought him a new wheelchair? Do I confront his parents? I don't know what to do. I want to call his parents out on there laziness but they have been known in the past to just take the boy out of school and then he gets no care or love at all and I don't want that to happen.
